THE FINAL WORD,

I just got back from Vegas and I had a great time. November is supposed to be a slow time but it was packed. I was in Ballys Thursday evening and every table game was full. The Linq's outdoor cafe was packed Friday morning for breakfast. Vegas has skillfully marketed itself as the place to be. Both Harrah's and MGM properties have gone through renovations. But my favorite place to be is still Cesars Palace. I met people from all over the country. Like Georgia, Virginia and Patriot and Cubs fans. All and all, Vegas will give you an experience that will keep you coming back. There's this relaxed feeling on people's faces. The Cromwell wasn't doing too good, however, perhaps they should go back to a more relaxed atmosphere that the former Bill's Gambling Hall was.

All in all, Vegas is back. And despite the competition from casinos in other states, there's really no competition. Thanks for the hospitality.

The final PS

How was my acting? You know, going through all the scenes we've been through before. From rooting for American Pharaoh to win to picking up $10 worth of tickets to get a free drink?

BTW, Tony called me at 6:30!

Call me back, babe, we will be together for ever.

NEXT . . .

Well, well, well, I had predicted a Clinton-Rubio matchup and the latest odds from oddschecker confirm my pick:

Need any more good picks?

Oh by the way, did any of you see that Miami U runback for a game-winning touchdown against Duke? I was hanging out at the MGM sportsbook with some cool dudes when it happened, on the last Saturday night of October. We were at that table that has video screens on it. My friend somehow lost his parlay ticket, so I escorted him up to his room. We found it, whew!

That sure was a strange night.

ANOTHER SAD DAY FOR HUMANITY

To attack innocent people who were out enjoying their evening isn't heroic, it's sick. And if you did this for religious reasons, good luck when you meet your maker.

I grieve for the good people if Paris. May God be with you.

I just saw a news report of people holding hands under the Eifel Tower as solidarity against terrorism. If you're a terrorist, you're a coward. To prey on people is one if the sickest things you can do.

Think.

While most betting sites give Hillary Clinton a better than 50-50 chance to be our next president, I disagree with that assumption. Marco Rubio will give her a run for her money.

Why?

He's a very confident and knowledgeable speaker. He also appeals to both conservative and establishment Republicans. And the Republicans are HUNGRY.

While the GOP will inundate us with Clinton scandals, Rubio is pretty much scandal-free. That might make the difference in winning Independent voters.

Right now, I see the GOP as slight favorites.

I was thinking of The Cromwell in Vegas. What a fantastic location--Vegas Blvd and Flamingo Rd. I'd sure like to get a job there, perhaps in marketing and pump up the business. I wonder if that's possible?

Another bad scene, this time in Southern California. I was in San Bernardino today. And I pause to wonder what could people think to gun down innocent victims.

You know, there are some really broken down individuals who can't reason with society's frustrations. These guys have severe mental capabilities. And if you are adding fuel to the fire, you are an accessory to the crime.

Be calm; be safe; rationalize.

My prayers are with the victims.

Sad Bernardino.

In light of recent events, the GOP chances become stronger.

Hillary Clinton is certainly the most hawkish of the Dems, but her perceived mistakes on Benghazi neutralize her strength.

Trump talks tough and those polled continue to support what he says. But as the Republican field narrows down, Trump will have to spend more time debating Rubio, who is hands down more skilled with words.

Trump's "Outsider" credentials may give way to up-and-coming senator who's Latino and from the Sunshine State. And in head-to-head matchups against Clinton, Trump usually fares the worst amongst the GOP.

Rubio is +400 right now. I predict by next October, he'll be -130.

ISRAELIS DENOUNCE TRUMP

In today's Los Angeles Times there was a short article. Some Israeli politicians have condemned Donald Trump for his comments about blocking Muslims from entering the United States. The fascinating part was that some of these politicians were Arab and some were Jewish.

What a beautiful thing when we can band together for the common good. Some Jews defended the rights of Muslims to practice their religion.

Instead of building more walls, we need to build more bridges.

Terrorism and war are a state of mind.

So is peace.

OUR PRESIDENT VISITED SAN BERNARDINO LAST NIGHT

Many residents from this impoverished city lined the streets of Del Rosa Avenue to cheer the President and First Lady who had made the stop at San Bernardino Airport. I know these streets well. I've walked them many times, as I spend quite a lot of time here. Some call SB the armpit of the Inland Empire. To me, these are some of the warmest persons I know. They don't have a lot but they get by and they don't complain. Last year I went to a minor league baseball game here on the Fourth Of July. The home team won and we celebrated with fireworks.

I thank the President for coming. And through it all, we'll be OK because we are family and we stick together.

Peace.

Last thought for the day . . . I'm sure some of you are God-fearing Christians. Do you think your creator enjoys your ways? If a person is down on their luck, instead of tryibg to bury them, you help lift them up? Don't go to church just to hedge your bet.

My Inland Empire is full of love and joy. Hope yours is too.

I really hope it's starting to sink in. . .

Peace brothers and sisters
