Free Selection from Jim Feist

Jim Feist's Free Play for Saturday, Sept. 5

9/05 07:05 PM EST   MLB   (909) ATLANTA BRAVES VS (910) WASHINGTON NATIONALS

Take: UNDER THE TOTAL.

Reason: Your free play Saturday, September 5th, 2015 is in the MLB contest between the Braves and the Nationals from Washington. Washington is a huge park and a terrible Atlanta offense is in town, last in baseball in runs scored. The Under is 11-5 in the Braves last 16 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Washington isn't tearing it up offensively, either, but at least they have Gio Gonzalez going, a good arm with excellent control. Atlanta has Shelby Miller going, with a 2.56 ERA. Miller (5-12) took his 11th consecutive loss on Monday, yielding six hits and one earned run over seven innings in a 4-0 defeat to the Marlins. He struck out four. The Braves have provided Miller an average of 2.56 runs per start, ranking his offensive support 89th among qualifying starters. And when these teams meet the Under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. Play the Braves/Nationals under the total.

Free Selection from Mr. Vegas

Mr Vegas FREE MLB play for Saturday, September 5, 2015.

09/05 09:05 PM EST  MLB   (927) TEXAS RANGERS VS (928) LOS ANGELES ANGELS

Take: (927) TEXAS RANGERS

Reason: Texas is a Top 7 offense and the Rangers are 27-11 in their last 38 road games vs. a team with a winning record. Derek Holland (2.82 ERA) has a 20-1 strikeout to walk ratio in 22 innings. Holland (2-1) was excellent on Sunday, giving up three hits and striking out 11 batters in a complete-game shutout against the Orioles. The Rangers are 25-9 in Hollands last 34 starts vs. the American League West. Meanwhile LA is on a 4-9 run and the Angels are 3-9 in their last 12 games vs. a left-handed starter. Jered Weaver (6-10, 4.94 ERA) has not had a good year and took the loss Sunday against Cleveland, allowing eight runs and nine hits and four walks while striking out two over six innings. And the angers are 6-1 in Holland's last 7 starts vs. the Angels. Play Texas!
