Every play is tentative - you can't be sure a play actually counts and there are so many variables: body parts being in bounds, knee touching ground before ball comes loose etc etc. There are many things that can and do go wrong in a football game, plus the hundreds of rules that even the players don't know etc etc. The game is horribly complicated. Every other sport if something happens it pretty much counts. Football the refs can call and pick up flags at their leisure. 50 yard td run? nope holding. 3rd down incomplete pass? nope PI. When I "watch" a football game I make goddamn sure I can click to another channel or switch to the computer and watch something else during most of the game. Also like to mute the bonehead announcers and listen to music instead of the mindless chatter. I definitely tune to something else during commercial breaks, those are unbearable. No points in 1st or 3rd quarter and over 42 hits with ease. I'm losing interest in the game myself. PAT 33 yards now kill me. I have better success in soccer and NCAA basketball.
