maron
Cant believe there is not more outrage on this. It looks to me like targeting...maybe its an unwritten rule of baseball that I do not understand Baseball tonight video Super Slo mo video
Yanks
Looks to me he just went to break up the double play and mis timed his slide when trying to slide into Kang. As long as he can still get to the bag then ( which he was able to reach with his hand) then it was acceptable in my book. But the spikes to leg didn't look intentional to me. And Kang said he wasn't mad at him and its part of the game.
maron
All I have to say is WOW as a Yanks fan, I thought more sympathy would be had since Kang basically got Hal Mcrae'd

Big difference IMO
Yanks
If he slides after the bag or out of the baseline then it's a dirty play. I've broken up tons of double plays sliding like that. Happens every night in baseball. It's part of the game. Just like barreling into the catcher was for ever until Posey got hurt.
Yanks
Re watched again. He slid a tad late. But still don't think it was intentional. If Kang isn't pissed at him then I have no reason to be either.
Sharp Square
Horrible result as Kang was playing very well but really see nothing dirty about it , was doing what he was supposed to trying to break up the double play and really didn't seem like he targeted the guy in an attempt to hurt him. If he isn't pissed and feels like he was injured on purpose hard to anyone else watching to be.
tripp
Yeah not really dirty imo, thats a baseball play. Kang had no issue at all with Cog or the slide, its just part of the game Now if you want to discuss whether it SHOULD be part of the game im open to that. Probably should not be allowed to slide and intentionally take out guys, but as of now thats part of the game so cant be mad at guys for doing it
maron
I just find it odd that MLB allows the proxomity out but then allows for Conan the Barbarian contact in slides.... Oh wel...brought the Pirates down several notches with that injury
