Caused by a minor geomagnetic storm currently affecting the Earth, the colorful display may be seen tonight on northern horizon as far south on the east coast as Annapolis, according to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. To capture on camera, use an exposure of 10 to 30 seconds. The northern lights were last visible over New Jersey in March.The runner-up prize for stargazers tonight is the Taurids meteor shower if the aurora borealis is a bust.
