Silver probably wouldn't have fined him. That was Stern, and also that was because Popovich left the players back in SA and didn't notify the league ahead of time.

 

Popovich sits starters for every TNT game. They usually are on the tail end of a back to back and since he hates TNT, he plays everyone in the first game and then sits guys for the TNT game.

yeah they've burned me before but i don't see it happening tonight

 

line would be somewere around -2 anyway right? so duncan, ginobili, splitter, bellinelli, and mills are only worth 4 points combined?

it opened at -3 and went to -6.5 after the news

 

the players sitting should've been expected, though. Look at all the Spurs games that have been on TNT the last couple of years. Duncan and Ginobili sit almost every time.

right but let's assume they wouldn't sit. it's still the 2nd game of a back-back, on the road, against a 5-0 rockets team. i think rockets would be -2 under the hypothetical situation that those guys started...

yeah, something like that

 

I think it would've been lower but the line and opening betting (it was actually already -4 when the news came out) was factoring in Popovich's history of sitting players.

 

so maybe 1.5 or 2
