After patching up the holes on offense in free agency, the Ravens used the draft to add young talent on defense. With new coordinator Gary Kubiak pulling the strings, the offense will run a lot of two-tight-end sets, utilizing Dennis Pitta and Owen Daniels to bolster the wide receiver tag team of Torrey Smith and Steve Smith. No. 3 receiver duties should be split between Jacoby Jones and Marlon Brown.

The offensive line should benefit from the healthy return of left guard Kelechi Osemele and the upgrade to Jeremy Zuttah at center. Right tackle is a concern, with 2013 fifth-round pick Ricky Wagner penciled in as a first-time starter. Ray Rice appears to have avoided major trouble for his early offseason arrest, but he's still a candidate for NFL suspension.

Second-year nose tackle Brandon Williams is expected to fill the void left by Arthur Jones who went to Indy. In that case, Haloti Ngata would kick back outside, book-ending Chris Canty in base personnel. The Ravens expect C.J. Mosley to start next to Daryl Smith as a rookie.Matt Elam moves to strong safety. Third-round pick Terrence Brooks will challenge former Rams' part-time starter Darian Stewart for the free safety job.

This Ravens roster has fewer holes than the 2013 squad coming off a Super Bowl run and Vegas released NFL season win totals for Baltimore at 8.5. They play in a really tough division where every team will be competitive and they also have road games at Indy and New Orleans that will be a strong test for the defense.

The defense will keep them in a lot of games.I could see them scraping to a 9-7 record.

While the Ravens and Steelers both enjoyed strong offseasons, the Bengals are simply treading water. The biggest changes on offense are the arrival of second-round pick Jeremy Hill, who could be a threat to BenJarvus Green-Ellis' early-down running back job; and the uncertainty of the interior of the offensive line. Left guard Clint Boling (who is recovering from ACL surgery) is touch-and-go for the season opener, and the starting center position is wide open following Kyle Cook's release. Veteran Mike Pollak and fourth-round pick Russell Bodine are in line for significant roles.

Michael Johnson's defection to Tampa leaves Wallace Gilberry and 2013 second-round pick Margus Hunt competing for the starting job opposite Carlos Dunlap. Will Geno Atkins regain Pro-Bowl form after surgery to repair a torn ACL?

The linebacker corps gets a boost in coverage with the angular and athletic Emmanuel Lamur expected to see at least 700 snaps as James Harrison's replacement. New defensive coordinator Paul Guenther can get more playmaking ability on the field by having Vincent Rey cut into Rey Maualuga's playing time.

Cincinnati's secondary is deeper than it has been in years. With Leon Hall returning from Achilles surgery and Terence Newman and Pacman Jones continuing to exceed expectations, first-round pick Darqueze Dennard is no lock to join the starting lineup in Week 1. The Bengals also have Texans castoff Danieal Manning pushing George Iloka for snaps at safety.

Can Guenther bring out the best in this talent as Zimmer did consistently before leaving for the Vikings job?

The division is stronger and they have to play Pittsburgh,Baltimore and an improved Cleveland team twice. They also must go on the road and face New England,Indianapolis and New Orleans while having to face Denver,Atlanta and Carolina all teams that are going to be difficult matchups.Five out of their last seven games are on the road.Vegas released NFL season win totals for Cincy at 9 and honestly it won't be easy at all.

The Steelers entered the offseason as an organization in transition. Faced with an aging roster, the former perennial contender has been forced to rebuild on the fly. Disparaged as "old and slow" by NFL Media's Warren Sapp the past two years, Dick LeBeau's defense added an impressive blend of size and athleticism in free agency and the draft.

The defense can count on an impact starter with fresh legs at all three levels. Mike Mitchell will start at free safety after reviving his career in Carolina last season. First-round linebacker Ryan Shazier will team up with Lawrence Timmons as one of the NFL's most dynamic linebacker tandems. The Steelers believe second-round defensive end Stephon Tuitt would have been a top 10 draft pick if not for a hernia injury last season.

This franchise has the added benefit of a 2013 draft class ready to take on increased roles. Le'Veon Bell is one of the NFL's rare three-down backs. Markus Wheaton is the favorite to replace Emmanuel Sanders opposite Antonio Brown, and edge rusher Jarvis Jones pushed LaMarr Woodley out the door.

It's with good reason that the Steelers didn't address the offensive line in the draft. Once Kelvin Beachum solidified left tackle, Ben Roethlisberger was sacked just 11 times over the final eight games. This was one of the NFL's hottest teams down the stretch, and the roster has been upgraded in impressive fashion.Vegas released NFL season win totals for Pittsburgh at 8.5 wins.

At the QB position Brian Hoyer has four NFL starts in five seasons and is seven months removed from ACL surgery. Johnn Manziel is the future. Due to the uncertainty surrounding Hoyer there is a good chance Tyler Thigpen could jump ahead of him on the depth chart. Exciting preseason plays and the promise of a new tomorrow will have the fanbase clamoring for Manziel to start.

Ben Tate and Terrance West will be a solid one two punch at RB with a solid offensive line in front.

Josh Gordon is appealing his pending lengthy suspension. The expectation is that he won't be available for at least the first half of the season. That would push a brittle Miles Austin into the No. 1 receiver role, with Andrew Hawkins in the slot and the No. 2 spot up for grabs between Nate Burleson, Travis Benjamin, Earl Bennett.

If the offense is in transition, the defense should be a strong suit under Rex Ryan protege Mike Pettine. The front seven was a revelation for the majority of last season. With Donte Whitner and first-round cornerback Justin Gilbert bolstering the secondary, there's no obvious weak spot on defense.

The initial campaign of the Pettine era figures to hang its hat on a ball-control offense and a blitzing, physical defense. Even if the Browns are expected to bring up the rear in the AFC North, they are no longer a pushover, much less a laughingstock. Bring your lunch pail when you come to Cleveland. Vegas released NFL season win totals for Cleveland at 6.5 and there is a good chance they could be a surprise team in the AFC.

Very tough to figure out. Pains me to say it but i think Pittsburgh is headed up and will win this division in a very close three way dogfight with Baltimore and Cincy. In my opinion Cleveland ain't quite ready to make the jump to contender. Baltimore will be better on offense with new scheme and coordinator Gary Kubiak and WR Steve Smith. Losing Zimmer to run the defense and Gruden to run the offense will hurt Cincy a bit but they still have the talent. Pittsburgh has a new speedy weapon Dri Archer on offense and first rounder Ryan Shazier will improve the defense.
