Last Saturday, my LOVELY WIFE, rented a movie from direct tv for FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT. It was called Wonder. She says our SON, read the book, and blah, blah. I said no way. I quickly change my mind and ask her what it's about. I thought it was an animated movie like Dispicable Me, Up, or something like it. Just when the movie starts, she tells me, you saw the movie Mask, right? I instantly get anxiety. My mom took me to see Mask in like 1986, and the fucking thing creeped me out soooooo bad. I still talk about it to this day. If I didn't know any better, it was a set up. So the movie starts, and it isn't animation. She asks me the Mask question around the same time I realize it isn't animation so I'm a bit phased. Ok, the movie goes on, and the kid doesn't look too scary. I could maintain. It is pretty good, I guess. I know we're over the half way mark, and I'm happy i participated in FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT. All of a sudden, out of the blue, there is a scene, where the older daughter is 4 years old, a flashback scene, and she says she wants a baby brother. This is the brother who has a deformed face. All of a sudden, it was like someone threw a toxic smoke grenade in the room. I try to hold it in, but my throat starts burning me. I can't contain myself, and leave the room. I was PISSED! The last time I had a movie breakdown moment was during fucking MARLEY AND ME. When they took that dam dog I knew what was about to come and I purposely bit my lower lip to hang in there and avoid the impending tears. I was barely holding off. I look to my left and there is an older man crying his eyes out. WTF! I broke down crying at that point and had the fucking throat burn from trying to resist the tears. Just fucked up.
