The X
This is the tile. Appears to be porcelain. http://ragnousa.com/series/vestaI told him ceramic when I called him. Does it matter in terms of the project? No. As long it's a floor tile.
IAG
What flooring is outside of your bathroom in regards transitions and such. I pulled up carpet that was in hallway and big rec room...so currently it's the same Lino? tile stuff that is in the bathroom, but it will be getting done next...probably carpet, but maybe wood, laminate or tile. Haven't decided for sure.
SUPERMAN 23
That was the first guy I called. He did not even see the house. I thought that was weird by itself. Yeah, I think he's out regardless. He wasn't all that friendly on the phone either. I like guy number two. He's the one who told me it would need to be removed. He is coming this afternoon or evening to look at it. This has the making of a porn movie written all over it

SUPERMAN 23
IAG you said the vinyl tile tile that is down is very old, do you know what size it is? a lot of old 9 x 9 tile or tile adhesives contain asbestos which you wouldn't want to disturbe. housepicks
No transition needed..carpet will butt up to tile. One day to lay tile. Come back next day hour to grout.

So will he need to do any type of transition now? Or will it wait until I put the carpet or whatever the new flooring is in?

Brick
IAG cutting down a door is no problem, wrap the bottom in masking tape so it doesnt splinter, draw a straight line on tape where you are cutting, and cut it with a circular saw. Lololol. I couldn't pick out a circular saw in a lineup. My neighbor is in Ireland, but when she's back she can probably do it...she's handy like that...and has tools. I'm hiring a handyman for other random stuff soon, so if nothing else he can do then.

IAG
OK tile guy was here. He's going to email me an estimate. He said that the Lino tile that is down there is sturdy enough that it could be laid on top of that. He was picturing the old rolls before when we talked I guess. He is scared that if we try to pull them up there may be glue that needs to grind off? I don't know what that all means. Time? More money? I don't know, but he thought it would be fine. Said the door would be fine and he will replace the vanity and toilet as long as I have all the parts.
