I agree with Boats ruling. Plays dont count.   You had 4 days. You tried to play stale lines and got caught.

I am sorry and hope all works out with your emergency, but I cant allow. SO VERY SORRY.

 

If I allow this, how can I EVER enforce the rules on entry times? people will always be able to point to this and say "well you allowed him to be late"

 

Spread sheet was up for 3 days with the date and time in thread title.

 

I am very sorry, but I can't make exceptions for one with out being FORCED to do it every time down the road.

If my age don't count, then I respect that, but then easygoers first week gets DQ'd as well.

 

This is bush league. I was 20 minutes late for a family emergency. I wouldn't care, but I've been top 2 since week 1.

 

I'm sorry, nothing against easygoer, but if there aren't exceptions for all, than there are exceptions for none.

 

I was 20 mins late and I already knew who I wanted. I'm sorry that there are things higher on the priority list. Isn't this supposed to be for fun? It's not like people had to pay, it was a deposit you got to use anyways.

 

Just saying, if my picks don't count, than easygoers first week shouldn't either.

Yikes I just read the link.

 

I will say this. having to enforce a rule knowing it will piss someone off is never easy. But if you don't do it, why even have the rules?

 

But again it's not easy.

 

I HATE DQing people. It scares me they won't play in future contest, won't support the contest books and may even leave TGF. But as long as I am following the rules I know I am doing right.

 

What is the real fuck up is when I mess up and forget a time rule I put in place. When that happens (and it does) I just punt and try to do what is best for the community.

 

I like John, but dealing with posters isn't his best attribute. He has ZERO support in any way from EOG ownership.
