He was a fucking bum trying to hang onto a baseball career. He was an average player at best. His entire Cincinnati career he was washed up. Barry Lamar was an IMMORTAL for his ENTIRE career. Sure, I hold those that didn't in much higher regard in the respect category. But MLB created the problem. Steroids weren't even against the rules for goodness sake. How Fd up is that? They created the culture and the problem. Then from there it became an arms race of keeping up with the Joneses. Fringe players almost HAD to partake to keep an edge and fend off being sent back down. It's time us old baseball farts forgive and move on IMO.
