tripp
WOW, Michigan coming strong for Harbaugh. Honestly didnt think they had a shot at him as figured he would want to stay in the NFL, but this deal will be tough to turn down. Would make him the highest paid coach in NCAAF, passing Nick Saban. Obviously NFL teams will be lining up to throw cash at him also, but 8 M will be tough to beat if Harbaugh is going off best offer. I can see Miami offering $7 M per year or so to run their team. Harbaugh will probably want complete control over the roster also (one of the big issues he had in SF was wanting more control) Gonna be interesting but Mich fans have to be excited. Actually seem to have a realistic shot at Harbaugh now
Coach Taylor
I don't think he leaves the NFL. His brother has a ring. Pete Carroll has a ring. Jim needs one. He should go to Miami. Gives him the best chance to win now. They're not that far away. What are his other NFL options? Raiders? NYJ? Bears? Gross.

Coach Taylor
be crazy to take the Miami job as long as Brady is there. They came hard (lol) after him when he left Stanford. They'll give him the cash. Where would you go and why if you had your pick of this offseason's NFL head coaching vacancies?
Guest boatboatboat
If I was a LONG haul guy Miami. But he isn't a LONG HAUL kinda guy. Mich is perfect for him. His "act" wont have time to grow old as players will graduate or go to the nFL before it wears thin. Much like lou Holtz
tripp
I think Harbaugh can win relatively quickly in Miami. They are a good team, at times a great team, just inconsistent. If Tannehill could learn to throw a deep ball they could be very dangerous. I can see Harbaugh winning and winning big at any various NFL stop. Miami I wouldn't be shocked to see him in a conference finals game within 3 years, Oakland would be a longer wait but I can see him building Oakland into a powerhouse in 3-4 years as he accumulates and develops talent while waiting on Peyton to retire. Atlanta he could win right away also Michigan gives him the best chance of flat out dominating but depends where he wants to be, college or pros. Harbaugh vs Meyer in the Big Ten would be amazing to watch every year.

KingRevolver
Unreal. I didn't think there offer would be that good. Agree with Coach... I don't think he wants to leave the NFL just yet.
Brutus Buckeye
The offer is hard to pass up. It would make him the highest paid coach in college football. But if any NFL team offers him a job he's going to take it.

But if any NFL team offers him a job he's going to take it. There will be plenty of NFL offers Harbaugh is still under contract for another year though, so not sure how that impacts any of these offers.I'm assuming he can bolt that contract for NCAA but would need to be traded to another NFL team? So he wouldn't get his pick of the offers necessarily, other than the fact that a team likely wouldn't trade for his services unless there was a longterm extension agreed upon beforehand
rjt
Why would a team trade for Harbaugh when the whole world knows he's not going back to SF? The 49ers have no leverage.

tripp
team is riddled with injuries and suspensions goes 8-8 in the toughest division in football and they get rid of him. fagit shit it's not because of SF's record, although im sure a bad year will make it way easier for them to do There were reports before the season even started he was for sure gone. Glazer was reporting early in the year even if SF won the SB harbaugh was gone Really has nothing to do with his abilities as a football coach, dont think anyone in SF would try to argue he isn't amazing at that part. Just doesn't get along with management (as well as some player reportedly) and management wins over coach almost every time

Guest boatboatboat
It's looking more and more like Jim Harbaugh will be spending next season in Ann Arbor. Days after Michigan's athletic director reportedly told players the school feels good about having its guy, Brian Cook of MGoBlog has added more pieces to the puzzle, including whisperings from current coaches, heightened levels of confidence throughout Michigan media, and packages addressed to Harbaugh reportedly being delivered in Ann Arbor. Cook, who put the chances of Harbaugh leaving the San Francisco 49ers to become Michigan's next head man at 99 percent, added he's "heard word that there's a large event on Tuesday night that the catering staff has been asked to keep secret -- something that they've never been asked about before." Michigan, where Harbaugh played quarterback in college, has reportedly offered him a six-year deal worth $8 million per year. Four days ago, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Harbaugh is leaning toward accepting the deal, adding that the 49ers are expected to part ways with their head coach within 48 hours of their season finale against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. That could suit the 49ers, who are rumored to prefer that Harbaugh leave for a college job. While the franchise could ask another NFL team for "a king's ransom" in exchange for releasing Harbaugh from the final year of his contract, they don't plan on asking Michigan for compensation, according to Football Scoop. Michigan made the not-so-subtle move to tweet a happy birthday to Harbaugh earlier this week. Turning down a shot at a Super Bowl (Harbaugh led the Niners to the NFC Championship three consecutive times before missing the playoffs this season) for a college rebuilding job isn't a traditional move, but Harbaugh's relationship with the management in San Francisco has reportedly been fraying for some time
Guest boatboatboat
Jim Harbaugh is reportedly gone from the San Francisco 49ers, after the team reached a deal to allow him to leave and become the new coach at the University of Michigan. For more than a week, rumors have swirled that Michigan was coveting the 49ers coach, and was offering a six-year, $48 million contract to attract Harbaugh back to his alma mater. Though initial reports indicated that Harbaugh was going back and forth on whether to take the deal, it now appears that it is set. CBS5 reporter Joe Pequeno tweeted that the two teams came to an agreement, and all that’s needed now is for Harbaugh and Michigan to finalize the details.
