I like playing a team before they go on a bye as long as they are not in a slump.

There appears to be a fair share of 2 out of 3 wins for these teams.

Also keep note for when a team comes out of the bye if against a rested or unrested opponent.

- I will follow up if I find anything that reflects on the game TOTALS re the bye before and after.

Frozen Solid Findings: (BYE WEEK RELATED)

Of the teams that had their BYES, they produced results of 15W & 5L in their Pre Bye game

( Bos/Mtl played each other in their shared pre bye game so it's like 14W & 4L = 78% winning trend here on a pre-bye play.)

Tonight the Dallas Stars are -117  & in Regulation time only -0.5 +147 & -1.5 +242 ( worth a small shot? YES!!~) vs T Bay in their PreBye week game.

Now the added kicker that I found with these Pre Bye (PB) Win games was that these same teams then proceeded to LOSE their return from a Bye

at a ratio of 8 Losses to 2 Wins !  Quite interesting how the pre bye win hurt teams' "hunger & drive" for their overly rested and rusted return.

Tonight Chicago returns at home from their bye week and play the Edmonton Oilers +127 !!
Tonight Nashville returns on the road from their bye and play the Minnesota Wild -155 !!

Tonight Tampa Bay returns on the road from their bye week at Dallas and we all know the story here ! DALLAS -117 !!

Tonight Washington returns on the road from their bye week at Detroit and tough to stop a power house so...will just watch and weep?

Tonight Montreal returns at home from their bye week vs Winni with a new/old coach behind their bench.  Mtl had lost their pre bye game

so they don't fall under the trend of losing on return.  I like'em anyhow.

Tonight Los Angeles is playing their 2nd return game and figuring them to get their 2 of 3 wins so will watch & resist temptation as I prefer Fla +odds.

- To date - teams winning their pre bye games managed to go 2-1 over the span at a clip of 6 x (2-1) & 3 x (1-2).

Tonight LAK is playing their 2nd rtn game and could use that 2nd win. See above

Tomorrow Boston returns from their Bye week - plan for their loss !

Tomorrow is Columbus' pre bye night ! A top team to have on your side.

- Another finding was that from the teams that Won their prebye game, in both their return games we see a repeat Under Total result in the 2nd game

when there was an under result in the 1st return game.... 1st Under & then 2nd Under = 3W - 0L = so far 100%.

Watch Washington total for tmrw night Feb 19 as they go B2B with tonight

- There were 5 Overs from winning PB teams in their 1st game back which resulted in 4 Overs and 1 Under in the 2nd return game ! This is so far at an 80% Win rate.

**One team who had an Over in their 1st game back is Los Angeles and they are playing their 2nd game tonight vs Florida, who I was taking OVER regardless

since injured Huberdeau and Barkov rtnd ( mentioned in my "Bimmer on Ice" thread last week ).  So give it a look.  Fla has had an over and last night a push since then.

Milk'em till the well runs dry.

- Now from the grouping of teams that lost their pre bye game, in their 1st game return their were 2 unders and 1 over. In the 2nd game Under was 1&1 and the Over

had the same results so 1&0.  Worth keeping an eye as combined with the earlier mentioned winning PB teams the Over match in return games 1 & 2 record rises to 5&1 or 83.3%!

Pre Bye related Feb 18th:

Dallas - PRE BYE GAME - in PLAY  including OT -117

Fla / Los Angeles OVER 5 - in PLAY Over 5 -119

Edmonton ( ref Chicago's return from bye ) +127

Minnesota ( ref Nashville return from bye ) -155

Dallas ( ref Tampa Bay return from bye - DOUBLE WHAMMY !! ) -117

I'm done for now

Back tmrw with add ons and updated BYE trend stats!

Good Luck and expect to Bang out all of your Books with some NHL.

went 4-1 yesterday taking minny and dallas -1.5

I been playing these for 3 days now 6-1

Today we have 1 team coming off the bye week Boston and their opponent playing their last game before the bye San Jose. So a double whammy, plays on San Jose.

Also have 3 other teams playing their last game before the bye,

play is on

Buffalo home vs Chicago ( both teams on 2nd of a btb)

Columbus home vs Nashville (Preds 2nd of a btb)

Vancouver home vs Philly  (Vancouver on 2nd of btb)

GL today

Thanks for the writeup.  I likely would not have worded it in quite the same way today.

Editing info to the fllwng:

Today we have Boston coming off the bye week and their opponent San Jose playing their last game before the bye.

So we have ourselves another "double whammy", and the play of the day goes to San Jose.

Also have 3 other teams in addition to San Jose playing their last game before the bye

Buffalo home vs Chicago ( Chicago losing last night to Edm is on their 2nd game after the bye so it could spell b2b losses?  Chi went under yesterday so taking this one under as well. )

Columbus home vs Nashville (Preds lost ysdty and in a bad spot here as 2nd of a btb - losses?  Nashville went OVER the total last night so taking this one OVER )

Vancouver home vs Philly  ( Van was outshot 18-2 in the 3rd P last night.  hope they have enough in the tank to take down Philly.    )

On a B2B note going to go with Anaheim after LAK's regulation game time loss last night.

In the Totals Dept:

- We have Tampa Bay playing their 2nd return game ( last night's big 4-3 loss in OT to DALLAS !!!!) so taking their game vs Colorado OVER.

- Also Carolina in their 2nd game return going with the UNDER as they play Toronto as Caro lost their bye rtn game 2-1 (aside from the fact that their last 7 games went under the total).

Toronto also on their way to B2B losses after their loss vs Ottawa last night. Hoping Carolina emerges from their funk.

- Washington in their 2nd rtn game losing last night ( B2B LOSS time? ) away at NYR.  Tough game call but going with the UNDER in pursuit of my Bye Totals 2nd game dupe trend.

On an Under note...when was the last time NJ/NYI had an over result in the last 3 years+ ? Here they go at it again today !  ( NYI facing a B2B loss situation )

That should wrap it all up.

Thanks again to Superman for setting the above all up for me

"BYE" !!!!! ( and of course GL today and tonight to all !!! )

So, Did You Keep Up With The Trend??

11W 2 L 2P  playing the 2nd game Total the same as PB game #1's outcome.

In fact there was even a Push - Push outcome in the package!

Tonight Boston is playing PB #2 at Anaheim!

Do the DEW !!

Post Bye Totals Results:

            Gm#1 -  Gm#2

Az      -  Over  - Under

Cal     -  Under - Under

Edm    - Over - Over

LAK    - Over - Push

Chi      - Under - Over

Col      - Under - Under

Nash   - Over - Over

Boston - Under - ______Feb 22nd tonight

Fla      - Over - Over

Mtl      - Under - Under

Ott      - Under - Over

TBay   - Over - Push

Tor      - Over - Over

Caro   - Under - Under

NJ       - Push - Push
