Fuck the Cromwell.

Damn I miss the Barbary Coast. I miss the quaint sportsbook. The small hotel where you were just steps from your room from the Strip. I miss the Victorian room and the Chinese specials they had on the menu.

Fuck the Cromwell.

Barbary Coast was my favorite along with a former frequent player there in Jimmy the Greek.

Drais which was in the basement there was one of my favorite places. Great food and a good after hours place. Now it’s on the roof of the Cromwell and is like every other Vegas club.

What happened to being original? But maybe the roof top is the way to roll these days.

I like old school myself.

When I worked at Caesars would close down the book on weekends around 2-2:30 then head over to Drais with some of my customers. Saw all kinds of ridiculous shit there, many of the chicks would leave Pure around that time and walk across the street to Drais.

I really miss those days, probably would be dead by now if I kept keeping that lifestyle, but had a helluva time for a few years.

You know it’s a crazy place when they put plastic lids on all the glasses so people don’t get roofied. That always made me laugh.

Was unsurpassed in Vegas for picking up stragglers. In the years I was going, maybe 2002-2007, drugs were pretty much consumed openly as well.

and yet my real estate agent sends me messages about how great everything is in las vegas

Supposedly still a large amount of hidden inventory of foreclosure houses out there. Not sure if I believe it or not, they keep saying how low the number of houses for sale is, but in my area in the southwest they have literally been building new housing on every corner the last few years.

My property value has been increasing substantially almost every year since I bought in 2010, but appears to be slowing down. Area seems to be getting more diversified in the last couple years as well. Being white and scared it has me starting to look around in Summerlin and maybe selling mine before any major price drop hits.
