MonkeyF0cker
If I was an NFL owner, I'd move to Mexico City. You can just print money. Las Vegas is for clowns. But Texas isn't?
Always Call Heads
But Texas isn't?Forgot about San Antonio. Way better market than Las Vegas although they might stay home and watch the Cowboys.
MonkeyF0cker
Las Vegas is a perfect market for the Raiders.
MonkeyF0cker
Tons of existing Raiders fans in LV and a shitload of traffic from California on the weekends.
Always Call Heads
Las Vegas is a perfect market for the Raiders. It will be good enough until they get somebody to build them a stadium in a better market.
MonkeyF0cker
And your call is that San Diego is a better market? A city that already failed at holding an NFL team...

MonkeyF0cker
They didn't fail. They told them to F off. Hard to see why any NFL team wouldn't be throwing themselves at San Diego.

MonkeyF0cker
Well, they are rich as hell. Seriously? LV has tons more money than SD and a ton more ways to finance a stadium.
Always Call Heads
Seriously? LV has tons more money than SD and a ton more ways to finance a stadium. All that matters is the financing. They are going to pimp out LV and move on.
MonkeyF0cker
All that matters is the financing. They are going to pimp out LV and move on. And LV can tax tourists. San Diego can't. How do the Raiders "pimp out" LV exactly?
Always Call Heads
And LV can tax tourists. San Diego can't.I don't think they have any intention of staying there. But we will see how it works out. They are guaranteed to make money no matter. It is just a question of whether or not the most can be made in LV and I doubt it. So, you figure a team that's spending $1.15 billion on a stadium doesn't plan on staying there?
Viejo Dinosaur
Good news for Vegas but I am still skeptical.... How big is the stadium? Will the books accept Raider action? Will the town support them? Will the casinos be Raider friendly?
Always Call Heads
So, you figure a team that's spending $1.15 billion on a stadium doesn't plan on staying there? Are they going to spend $1.1 billion of their own money? I don't see that. These teams don't spend a cent on stadiums. That is why they are moving to Vegas and why the NFL stayed out of LA for so long at their own expense. How big is the stadium? Will the books accept Raider action? Will the town support them? Will the casinos be Raider friendly? The only time that the books don't take action is if a major stakeholder in the casino owns part of the team. They take action on UNLV games. So, it would come as a surprise if they didn't take action on Raiders games. The stadium is supposed to hold 65k or so. There are a lot of California transplants in LV. So, there are a lot of existing Raiders fans living there. You'll get a lot of the people going to games to see their "home" team as well. Always Call Heads
Yes. Their own money. Not sure that is much money for a 10-year lease and a better deal. It could work out. They will have to stay a while and will make out like bandits regardless. I imagine the new will wear off pretty fast both ways.
Hoops
Fuck the NFL it killed 3 markets in 12 months. I hope this fails miserably! Can't wait til the mob gets ahold of these scumbag athletes and pays one off and gets caught throwing a game These guys are women beaters and druggies.. it will definitely happen that a player or two gets bought.. I would like nothing more than to see Goodell and these slime bag owners lose this golden goose egg for good
