Vegas restaurants and bars thread

Thought I would start a separate thread dedicated to the bars and restaurants of Vegas.

I've probably been to the second-most bars and restaurants in Vegas on this forum and previously put up top 10 lists of my favorite bars and restaurants.

Most of the places I go are what would be considered "local" places.  I don't venture down to the Strip much for a multitude of reasons.

Feel free to post your thoughts and questions in here and hopefully the cadre of experts and pseudo-experts will chime in.

If you are looking for a primer on restaurants (and bars) I personally recommend the Eating Las Vegas books which come out yearly.

Been to Aces and Ales once.  My own personal opinion, not that impressed.  Everything was overpriced, the growlers ridiculously so.  I like to take beer to go home, since drinking and driving is not a good idea, so I often carry a growler to bring with me.

I found the food average as well and the atmosphere just ok.  Will have to try it again sometime to see if it changes my mind.

Other craft beer bars I recommend:

Rebel Republic (about fifty rotating taps, outstanding food)

Atomic Liquor (if Atomic Kitchen is good, this might vault to the top of the list)

Pub 365 (in Tuscany, have some rare beers, food also top notch)

Bailiwick (in Orleans, love the food, beer selection a notch below those above)

Tenaya Creek Brwery (have a solid selection outside of their house brews, rotating food truck outside)

Public House (for the tourist, in Venetian, solid selections/good food)

How about a local corner/dive bar recommendation other than Dino's, Stage Door, Doubledown Saloon?

Office Bar on Paradise.....be alert for lezbos, Non heterosexual humans , trannies.

Longhorn Casino Bar on Boulder.......spent many a night there, bar fills up quickly nightly.

Hard Hat Lounge on Industrial ......looking forward to having a few beers there with Filthy-Cint

Sonnys Tavern on Industrial .......Vintage Vegas, local hangout for swing shift Strip workers for ages and ages.

Oops, messed that up.

I assume you mean Lola's Louisiana Kitchen, not the Dotty's knock-off Lola's slot joint.

There are two Lola's.  One in the Holsom Lofts on West Charleston and one in Summerlin.  I have only been to the Summerlin location as the other one is a bit of a logistical and parking nightmare at times.

Lola's was hyped up and I had high expectations but I was underwhelmed.  I only went once, but the food was just meh/ok to me.  In truth the Palace Station Oyster Bar is far more authentic for Cajun cooking.

At some point, I'll try it again but to be honest I was disappointed and in no way blown away.  I tried three signature dishes and none of them gave me the wow-factor or the eye roll of a Carson Kitchen or an Other Mama dish.

Copied and pasted this from the burger thread:

Mentioned it a couple pages ago you probably didn't see. Ever been to Fuku Burger yet in Vegas? Former food truck that opened a brick and mortar location that is always way too jammed for me to visit at lunch.

I've been to Fuku Burger twice.  Tasty burger, think they are around 7 or 8 bucks.  For that price I wasn't blown away though but I'm not a big meat eater nor consider myself a burger expert.  Just been to the brick and mortar location.  it looks like a converted taco bell and is on Jones I believe just north of Spring Mountain.

Right across the street are some good restaurant options: District One, Ramen Sora (or Monta-can't remember but it's good and not as crowded), a few others that I haven't tried.  China Mama also used to be good, but they changed owners and it's crap now.

One of the best burgers I remember having was at Fat Choy.   It is a little diner inside the Eureka Casino on East Sahara.  Pretty sketchy.  The owners (husband/wife team) also own Flock and Fowl just west of the Strip on Sahara.
