Here's the rundown from here:

http://www.eleague.com/street-fighter-v#Z7h1iWv.K5qD

Check this out:

Group C:

Tokido:

Tokido is one of the original 5 Gods of the Japanese Fighting Game Scene, along with Daigo Umehara, Nuki, Sako, Haitani. His skills are born out of the fierce Japanese arcade scene and they carried over into his competitive play at tournaments. He has the nickname "Murder-face", because of his deadly-serious expression while playing. He took 1st place at both Capcom Pro Tour Premier Events CEO 2016 and SEAM 201.

Plays Akuma and Ryu.

Xian:

Previously a "low tier hero," sticking with FANG for the entire first season of SFV, Xian recently reiterated his SFV dominance by taking the first Premier of 2017 Final Round. Using Ibuki and capitalizing on his opponents mistakes, Xian continues to show why he is considered one of the worlds best "technical" fighting game players.

Plays Ibuki and F.A.N.G.

MOV:

Dubbed as one of the best Chun-Li players in the world, MOV, whose real name is Joe Egami, is a Japanese fighting game competitor specializing in Street Fighter. He placed 5th at EVO 2016 and 5th at Capcom Cup 2016.

Plays Chun-Li

FChamp

Ryan is one of the most infamous fighting game players while also one of the most consistent. As one of the best Dhalsims in the world, he continues to show the characters potential, while providing continual support and guidance to his local community.

Murder-face with the best character and like him like I like Daigo.  Will start digging.

But Akuma doesn't show up here:

https://rankedboost.com/street-fighter-v-tier-list/

But here we go:

https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/dec/26/why-akuma-may-be-strongest-character-street-fighter-5-and-why-it-may-not-matter/

And this passage is in there:

This is just one of many instances where Akuma players will have to make quick decisions like this from a vast number of options. Few players will be consistent enough to wield Akuma at his full potential, but naturally our eyes quickly turn to players like RZR|Infiltration and Tokido.

Joey, Tokido!  Bam!

This is Hearthstone which can be like white nerd Magic the Gathering redemption. Sweden and the US are the twobest teams so the strategy of go strong, go Asian might not work.

Sweden was down 0-2 to China before closing it out.

So Joey, feeling really good about Tokido.

According to this:

http://rank.shoryuken.com/

He's number 3 in the world.

Xian is 9. Compare their current scores.

The other interesting thing is Tokido plays as Akumah and Xian plays as Ibuki.

Akumah 3+ in power.

Akumah 1+ in health.

Tied in mobility.

Akumah 2+ in techniques

Akumah 1+ in range.

If you look at the SF5 top 10 characters on the right side of that list, Akumah doesn't even show up I guess because he's so hard.

On the Capcom Pro Tour Xian is 5th ranked one ahead of Tokido.

Tokido seems to have done shitty in recent tourneys.  Have to figure out why.

https://www.redbull.com/us-en/nuckledu-vs-tokido-street-fighter-5-battle-grounds

In this he beat NuckleDu (playing as Ryu) in the first round and then lost in the finals.

But:

"Some parts of my strategy worked, but some parts were too hard for me," Tokido said, reflecting on his loss after the tournament. "I must practice." Despite the loss, Tokido’s goal was achieved through the weekend of perfecting his new techniques, leaving the bracket in shambles in his wake. Now Tokido looks to take today’s lessons into the 2016 Capcom Cup.

He's super aggressive and Akuma is an aggressive character.

And last here is him (as Ryu) versus the probably number one in the world Infiltration:

Epic.

The only match Ive really liked was Gamer Bee against Justin W (and there was a World of Tanks fight that was a complete mismatch too).  Thats what Joey bet on and then watched on TV.  The SFV Invitational is an invitational and there are some people there who shouldn't be there.  Joey and I are trying to figure this out.  There are definitely some matchups where the odds appear off.
