PREDICTIONS FOR NEW ORLEANS IN 2017:

Drew Brees has had five seasons with 5,000 yards or more thrown. In my opinion i think the Saints franchise should've done more to keep the defensive side of the ball competitive because Brees could've easily led the Saints to more than the one Super Bowl title. Brees is one of the top five best QB's all time and will one day be in the Hall of Fame. In the 10 plus years that Brees has been QB the team has been in the top 5 in yardage and top 10 in points offensively nearly ever year. What sucks for Brees is there were only three years where the team was top 10 defensively that was 2006,2010 and 2013. Not sure Adrian Peterson has any mileage left but Kamara has the looks of a real good RB. It is good to see the Saints spending high draft picks on the defensive side of the ball though because thats where they need help most.

Always enjoy these Mike and thanks for taking the time to post them all!  :hat

I liked the draft and thought the defense was on at least somewhat of an upswing and then BAM the loss of Nick Fairley just comes out of nowhere. He was such a solid piece to this defense for the next few seasons and his impact simply won't be replaced for this season.

Bree's as always will keep the offense moving and productive but without some improvement on the defensive side of the ball which we haven't seen in the last 3-4 years then it could once again be for not.  I think this years team has playoff potential but a lot of things esp on defense will have to fall the right way.

Good job on these Mike.

Saints are always a hard team for me to get a read on. Seems like they do less with more every year.

Thanks, i'm down to ranking the last fourteen teams and then after that i'll do some division threads might do a poll on those to see where the collective thinking is on who everyone thinks will win the different divisions.

The Saints have a very talented QB Drew Brees and i think the team could go far if they ever fix the defense. There were only three years where the team was top 10 defensively that was 2006,2010 and 2013. So in the Brees era besides the three years the defense was top ten they finished 25th,26th,20th,31st,28th,31st and 32nd. I lay that on the feet of the GM and owner.

I don't understand why the folks that run things don't try and bring a great defensive coach like Wade Phillips,Romeo Crennel,Vic Fangio, etc.

Payton needs to do what he can to help get that defense fixed because Brees is 38 years of age and the clock is ticking. I'd love to see Brees get a second ring.
