Cavs probably take it, and Boston got better, but I'm taking a flyer on the Wizards +1675 to win the East.

Main reason is the Wizards division is terrible; if they went 10-6 in their division last year as opposed to 8-8 they win 51 games and tie for second in the East. While divisional play is not that slanted; you play 4 games each vs divisional teams and between 3-4 games vs all other conference foes, they are guaranteed 16 games vs subpar teams in addition to a weak East and those extra two games in division could make the difference between winning the East and not.

Beal started to come into his own last year following the injury riddled 2015-16

Otto Porter was one of the most improved players in the NBA last year, and is entering his age 24 season; his game should continue to improve.

A couple things fall right for the Wizards and I think they take the East. Maybe Mike Scott will be serviceable for the first time in 5 years. I actually don't hate Jodie Meeks coming off the bench for a team that had no bench what-so-ever last year.

Boston takes a month or two to mesh all the new parts and the Cavs play like a dysfunctional bunch of children and the Wizards sneak in there.

Will be interesting to see the schedule when it's released.

TH.....you think the Cavs division wins more games then WW?

CHI, MIL, DET, IND

vs

MIA, CHA, ORL, ATL

yes.

think Milwaukee takes a big step forward this year - wins 47-50 games.

don't think the pacers will be as bad as everyone thinks. collison not a big step back, oladipo a nice gain over monta ellis who got old in a hurry. think Myles Turner takes a big step forward this year without paul george. think they win 32-34ish games in the weak east.

Detroit should be better than last year, and they should be real good defensively. Jackson healthy for the entire season should help as well. Think Detroit wins about 40ish game this year.

Bulls will be lucky to win 25 games but that's the one dreadful team in the division.

Atlanta - awful; 32ish wins

Orlando - awful, 28ish wins

Charlotte - should be better, 41ish wins

Miami - see the same team as last year with not a lot of growth 41ish wins sounds about right.

so they are close in terms of total wins. Washington doesn't rest their stars like Cleveland though, and Cleveland will rest their stars vs the bad teams giving up some of their value there.

Bledsoe's agent is Rich Paul - Bron is cool with bledose. That's very viable trade partner

Not a viable trade partner to Gilbert though i dont think, unless Phoenix changes their mind about including Josh Jackson (and honestly they would be stupid to include him or Booker- really the whole idea of trading for Kyrie is stupid for Phoenix unless they think theres a legit chance he resigns)

Ive read a couple places there were deals on the table for Kyrie that Gilbert would have done if Lebron committed to a longterm deal, but Lebron is smart enough not to give that power to Cleveland so Gilbert wants a young star back instead of just what may make them better this season

So pretty much things like Porzingis, Wiggins, top draft picks etc are what the deal is gonna look like, not players like Bledsoe, Aldridge, Dragic or anything like that

Problem is those teams have come out and said Porzingis and Wiggins are off limits

I like:

Minnesota O 45 1/2

Washington Wizards

Over 46 ½

Toronto Raptors

Over 48 ½

Milwaukee Bucks

Over 44 ½

Philadelphia 76ers

Over 40 ½

Bulls Under 28 ½

Atlanta Under 34 ½

I really like Raps over also

Kept the squad together, more continuity and have depth guys like Powell developing. Still are in an awkward spot with JV since he can be really good at times but so inconsistent even between games, and he just doesnt fit todays NBA very well so they want to unload him but not getting the offers they want

But Lowry/Derozan/Ibaka is probably the 2nd best trio of players in the East, even better than Bostons trio

One worry is their div is getting much better fast with Phillys high end young talent, but Toronto still should be good for around 50-53 wins

Wiz upside looks really good with Wall/Beal, but always worried about teams with such crap depth. Bit me last year with Clippers over. At their best the Clip looked like title contenders, but anything goes wrong injury wise (and lots went wrong with that team) and you are sunk. Wall misses 2 weeks and losses could pile up for the Wiz, whereas teams like Toronto or Boston could withstand a stint without Lowry or without Thomas and not ruin a season win total over
