U.S Senate Race-- Alabama [Odds]

Don't think you can discount that it was also about the worst candidate that could have ever made it thru to a national election in my lifetime. Crazy to think that a race that generated this much attention still only got ~1 in 4 voters to show up to the poll. I think it's tough to read too much into this outside of pointing to how pathetic Roy Moore is.

hes not the best thats for sure, like Hillary she was not the best  and  while she did crush Mr Orange in the popular vote she did lose by a hair to the Trump wagon in electoral.

it happens you have to run with who you have.    But he had a great chance, he was up 20 days ago by 12 points,  he is so well known and stands for some of the decent conservative fiscal  issues,    BUT In that deep south perhaps the  most Republican Southern state in the union hes a lock, at least a 5 point lock.   until Trump came in and totally BLEW it for him.  OMG what a TRUMP loss.

The polls have been all over the place for the past few months in this race. You might find a poll where he was up by 12, but then it was countered with a poll where he was down by 5. RCP's polling average never had Moore up by more than 6 in the past few months, but with the volatility in the polls, it was tough to ever get a good handle on the race.

If the allegations, his slavery comments, tapes of his comments on the Constitution, etc came out 6 months ago, someone else is trouncing Doug Jones tonight. All this result really shows me is that Trump/Bannon aren't enough to overcome all of the other stuff, even in a state as red as Alabama. Jones almost certainly gets trounced in 2020 regardless of other factors because the R's will send out a candidate with a pulse, which is all it would have taken to win tonight.

Alabama voted to find common ground, work across Party lines, go against the Trump America.   Doug Jones ran well and Alabama changed totally and voted in the right candidate.  Very true Alabama has some non Trump type Republicans younger guys who will be strong in 2020 for this seat yes.  some good talent in Alabama.
