They changed it this year. I believe the teams coming off of byes are playing other teams off byes, so that angle is worthless. What was the angle with teams right before the bye?

not every team I don't think but majority so I think there are a few teams that are coming off byes that aren't playing a team coming off one but very few

Old post from last year ........

I like playing a team before they go on a bye as long as they are not in a slump.

There appears to be a fair share of 2 out of 3 wins for these teams.

Also keep note for when a team comes out of the bye if against a rested or unrested opponent.

- I will follow up if I find anything that reflects on the game TOTALS re the bye before and after.

Also from last year

Frozen Solid Findings: (BYE WEEK RELATED)

Of the teams that had their BYES, they produced results of 15W & 5L in their Pre Bye game

( Bos/Mtl played each other in their shared pre bye game so it's like 14W & 4L = 78% winning trend here on a pre-bye play.)

Tonight the Dallas Stars are -117  & in Regulation time only -0.5 +147 & -1.5 +242 ( worth a small shot? YES!!~) vs T Bay in their PreBye week game.

Now the added kicker that I found with these Pre Bye (PB) Win games was that these same teams then proceeded to LOSE their return from a Bye

at a ratio of 8 Losses to 2 Wins !  Quite interesting how the pre bye win hurt teams' "hunger & drive" for their overly rested and rusted return.

Tonight Chicago returns at home from their bye week and play the Edmonton Oilers +127 !!

Tonight Nashville returns on the road from their bye and play the Minnesota Wild -155 !!

Tonight Tampa Bay returns on the road from their bye week at Dallas and we all know the story here ! DALLAS -117 !!

Tonight Washington returns on the road from their bye week at Detroit and tough to stop a power house so...will just watch and weep?

Tonight Montreal returns at home from their bye week vs Winni with a new/old coach behind their bench.  Mtl had lost their pre bye game

so they don't fall under the trend of losing on return.  I like'em anyhow.

Tonight Los Angeles is playing their 2nd return game and figuring them to get their 2 of 3 wins so will watch & resist temptation as I prefer Fla +odds.

- To date - teams winning their pre bye games managed to go 2-1 over the span at a clip of 6 x (2-1) & 3 x (1-2).

Tonight LAK is playing their 2nd rtn game and could use that 2nd win. See above

Tomorrow Boston returns from their Bye week - plan for their loss !

Tomorrow is Columbus' pre bye night ! A top team to have on your side.

- Another finding was that from the teams that Won their prebye game, in both their return games we see a repeat Under Total result in the 2nd game

when there was an under result in the 1st return game.... 1st Under & then 2nd Under = 3W - 0L = so far 100%.

Watch Washington total for tmrw night Feb 19 as they go B2B with tonight

- There were 5 Overs from winning PB teams in their 1st game back which resulted in 4 Overs and 1 Under in the 2nd return game ! This is so far at an 80% Win rate.

**One team who had an Over in their 1st game back is Los Angeles and they are playing their 2nd game tonight vs Florida, who I was taking OVER regardless

since injured Huberdeau and Barkov rtnd ( mentioned in my "Bimmer on Ice" thread last week ).  So give it a look.  Fla has had an over and last night a push since then.

Milk'em till the well runs dry.

- Now from the grouping of teams that lost their pre bye game, in their 1st game return their were 2 unders and 1 over. In the 2nd game Under was 1&1 and the Over

had the same results so 1&0.  Worth keeping an eye as combined with the earlier mentioned winning PB teams the Over match in return games 1 & 2 record rises to 5&1 or 83.3%!

Pre Bye related Feb 18th:

Dallas - PRE BYE GAME - in PLAY  including OT -117

Fla / Los Angeles OVER 5 - in PLAY Over 5 -119

Edmonton ( ref Chicago's return from bye ) +127

Minnesota ( ref Nashville return from bye ) -155

Dallas ( ref Tampa Bay return from bye - DOUBLE WHAMMY !! ) -117

I'm done for now

Back tmrw with add ons and updated BYE trend stats!

Good Luck and expect to Bang out all of your Books with some NHL.

Possible play against situations for return from byes in bold

Jan 12th:

Edmonton vs Arizona

Jan13th:

Edmonton vs Vegas   *********

Arizona vs San Jose ( could catch AZ in B2B loss situation if a regulation time loss which may counter a possible return from bye edge(?) vs San Jose )

Re: team going on Bye in bold

Jan 12th

Vancouver vs Columbus

Calgary vs Florida

Jan 13th

Winnipeg vs Minnesota

Wash vs Carolina

Edmonton vs Vegas           *********

Jan 14th

Detroit vs Chicago

Other teams play in same scenario so nothing to play on.

Will study the totals before the byes and see how they are running this year and advise asap
