It's called an IRA. You can't take the money out without a 10% penalty and you get a tax deduction for putting it in.

If that doesn't work for you, you are probably best set for social security like everyone elee.

By the way, at the same time Kinger started this thread, he made another post about buying(and losing) on a $20 scratcher.  :lol

Revolver, try Acorns. Every purchase you make it rounds up to the nearest dollar and deposits that into an account. Then you can have them take an amount weekly too.

Yep. Read all about it last night and opened up an account.

Trying this and Digit.

An IRA is great for retirement savings. What if I want to take money out earlier? Big penalty. No thanks!

Just shut up and open the fuckin IRA dumbass, we're trying to help you!

And it would be to your great benefit if you opened a roth IRA as opposed to a regular one.

You can only put 5k in a traditional ira per year so once you max that out a roth is probably a good idea. For retirement, not savings.

You know why your daughters boyfriend invited his friend over for Christmas at your house?

Because it takes 2 beaners to fuck her fat ass.

Good thing you’re passed out drunk by then.

Well, I meant I can't touch for maybe 3-5 years. Not can't touch until I'm fuckin' 70. JFC. I'm not even going to live that long.

Only real option would be a 3 to 5 year CD. But they don't pay anything right now and you could get access to the money.

If you are single, you must have a modified adjusted gross income under $133,000 to contribute to a Roth IRA for the 2017 tax year, but contributions are reduced starting at $118,000. If you are married filing jointly, your MAGI must be less than $196,000, with reductions beginning at $186,000.

It's called discipline Kinger.

This is really what it comes down to. You can devise any savings strategy you want, but if you don’t have the discipline to adhere to it then you are doomed to fail.

Kinger is a long way from pushing that limit, at his age a roth is the way to go, sure he'd lose a little tax savings but 30 years of compounding with no taxes later on is the way to go IMO.
