mikeman
SighIt's true, except now instead of one crypto currency, a whole shitload of new ones have sprung up, made up out of nothing...oh look here's one that's only 80 cents, that one can really rise! milwaukee mike
You guys want to know what bitcoins are? Imagine Sleepy or Kinger taking a piece of paper and writing their name on it(maybe add in a number), then they announce limited supply 'sleepy money" and start mailing it out. That's what bitcoin is, except it's jazzed up with computers to make it seem complicated. that would be backed by the same thing as the us dollar

You can argue about valuation, but it’s apparent you don’t understand anything crypto/blockchain use cases other than for payments. Not to mention there are too many problems with your sleepy analogy to name.
mikeman
that would be backed by the same thing as the us dollarWhile dollars are no longer backed by silver or gold, they still have backing, the worlds largest economy being the main player, and if they were really nothing, the govt wouldn't need to steal/tax us to get our dollars/money. mikeman
By the way, this stock market thing is gonna get worse, a official correction occurs when the market has retreated 10%. and it's often 12-15-18%. Right now it's at about 6%, the dow could easily slide another 3K, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

mikeman
yea losing lots of money is funNo, it sucks, but corrections happen...frequently...or at least they used to. This is long overdue, hopefully it doesn't correct all in one day, that causes panic, and people do stupid things when they panic.

But that doesn't make fake currencies real. The world isn't perfect, what do you suggest, gold, silver? If inflation return's, and it should, they should rise. Bitcoin down to 6300 now. Not to mention there are too many problems with your sleepy analogy to name. but who knows whether bitcoin is going to be worth anything. i would argue that btc/eth are worth something, but not many other cryptos are netscape used some great internet technology, so did myspace... there is no barrier to entry and if facebook/amazon/google created their own coins then those would be the only thing with value for transferring money, who knows if we'll still use cryptos for sportsbooks... we were all using neteller, and moneygram/western union, etc

mikeman
you must be the life of parties sorry. Back to the stock market, i see what's happening, the thought crosses my mind to pull out, the problem is I've done that to varying degrees over the years, and I'm wrong 80% of the time. One thing is clear, staring at the market/ticker all day during bad times will drive you crazy. Bitcoin approaching 6200
