Browns :laugh

No NFL team has had it tougher than the Cleveland Browns over such a long period of time.

Their fans have been through complete and total misery.

Its so bad their stadium is nicknamed the mistake by the lake.

I honestly feel bad for the Browns.

They are 4-46 in their last 50 games dating back to December 2014.

Their record from '99 through today is 88 wins and 216 losses.

The Browns have the NFL longest postseason drought as last playoffs were in 2002 over 16 years ago.

Browns last playoff victory was 1994 when Browns head coach Bill Belichick defeated New England 20-13.

The Browns have not won their division since 1989 nearly 30 years ago.

Have only had two playoff appearances and three winning seasons since 1990.

The Browns have had over 30 starting QB's and 10 head coaches since '99.

However the Browns biggest mistake on top of all the others and that was not trying to draft a QB the last couple years and they have missed out on..... In 2017 bypassed Deshaun Watson and drafted Deshone Kizer instead,2016 traded pick to Eagles and Eagles chose Carson Wentz,2016 drafted Cody Kessler bypassing Dak Prescott who was drafted one round later. 2014 drafted Johnny Manziel bypassing Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo who were still available. 2012 drafted Brandon Weeden bypassing Russell Wilson,Nick Foles and Kirk Cousins who were still available. 2005 drafted a WR Braylon Edwards bypassing Aaron Rodgers. 2004 drafted TE Kellen Winslow instead of Ben Roethlisberger who Steelers drafted a few picks later. 2001 could've had Drew Brees who was picked at the top of second round.

So from 2017 all the way back to 2001 the Browns could've had but passed up Deshaun Watson,Carson Wentz,Dak Prescott,Derek Carr,Jimmy Garoppolo,Russell Wilson,Nick Foles,Kirk Cousins,Aaron Rodgers,Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees.

For the longest time the Browns could look at the Jags,Rams and Bills and know they were in the same boat with no winning seasons or playoff berths for over a decade but not any longer as the Jags,Rams and Bills are winning again and all recently made the postseason.

Wise to discuss Cousins' strengths & weaknesses, but keep in mind this context: he's faced the #1 most difficult schedule of pass defenses of any QB the past 2 yrs (2nd hardest in '16, 4th hardest in '17). Past 2 yrs combined: •8 games v top-5 pass Ds •13 games v top-10 pass Ds.....Cousins was top 10 in nearly all major statistical categories.  Some team is gonna get a good QB

For the last couple years i held out hope that if somehow the Panthers former DC Sean McDermott ever became available that we'd be able to land him in Tennessee because the man is an outstanding coach and is a very good leader and smart as well. The Bills got very lucky and i knew when he was announced HC he would end their playoff drought which he did in short order.

That being said another player i respect tremendously is QB Kirk Cousins he is going to take some team far that i have no doubt whatsoever. If Cousins does end up in Buffalo i think they could be on the verge of something really good.

I think Buff under the new regime is finally headed in a much better direction as you mentioned and for that reason alone Cousins being there makes things much more interesting then him being in Say NY with the Jets.

Correct. Cousins being in Buffalo would be way more beneficial because the Bills have better coaching, players, just came off a playoff berth, etc.  As far as the Jets they would be better off drafting a QB and putting money toward free agents instead of Cousins. After all Cousins makes better sense in Buffalo then N.Y.

Many teams are in the air as to whether they should sign a free agent QB Smith,Cousins,Keenum,Bradford,Bridgewater,McCarron,et. or draft a QB Jackson,Rosen,Allen,Mayfield, etc.

Speaking of Buffalo i noticed something crazy someone pointed out on Youtube.

Tennessee beat Buffalo 22-16 on January 8,2000 which was Bills last playoff game and then in Buffalo last regular season game of the 2017 season on December 31,2017 they beat Miami by that same score 22-16 to make the playoffs for the first time in 18 years. There’s been 15,997 NFL games played between January 8,2000 and December 31,2017 . So before this week 17 game, the chances of it being 22-16 were 0.00081265. Even crazier is in that 18 year span there have been only 13 games with a 22-16 outcome out of 15,997 games and the Bills last playoff game in January 2000 and the game they won in December 2017 to make it back to the playoffs for first time in 18 years had that same rare 22-16 outcome.

Thats not all the team Buffalo beat was Miami to clinch 2018 playoffs and so on January 15,2000 Jacksonville beat Miami in playoffs the week after Buffalo lost to Tennessee on January 8,2000. Well the first round of 2018 playoffs has both Tennessee and Buffalo on the road and Buffalo travels to...Jacksonville on January 7,2018 almost exactly 18 years since the Bills last playoff appearance on January 8,2000.

Also from that Buffalo/Tennessee 2000 playoff game Fisher and Phillips both coached or are coaching with the Rams the team Fisher would later lose to. Keenum Bradford both Former Rams now with the Vikings.

More bizarre is that the Rams, Jags, Bills, Titans all in the playoffs together at same time for the first time since 99....

Besides Buffalo making playoffs for first time in 18 years the Rams are in playoff for first time in 15 years, the Jags are in playoff for first time in 12 years. Now longest playoff drought is Cleveland no playoffs since 2002 and Tampa Bay no playoffs since 2007 and the next two are N.Y. Jets and Chicago both have had no playoffs since 2010 and ironically last time N.Y. Jets/Chicago were in playoffs they were both one step away from the 2010 Super Bowl as Bears lost NFC championship and Jets lost AFC championship and neither have been back since.

So Browns 2002,Bucs 2007,Bears 2010 and Jets 2010 have longest playoff drought.

Vikings, Browns, or Jets.  In that order.  Buff and Ariz don't have the cap space needed.  The Browns should make a front loaded offer and blow everyone out of the water with their cap space, and challenge Cousins pride to be perceived as a savior, vs just a missing piece, as he'd be in Minn.

If the Browns play their cards right(Cousins, Barkley, and the best Defensive player in the draft), they can be next years Jags.

The Jets have the desire, but the Broncos have a combination of need + desire.

When it comes time to finishing off a bid, the Broncos know that they will be much closer to another Championship with his signing, while the Jets are almost virtually assured that even by landing him, much more needs to be done.

That could/should be the difference in where he lands, as the Broncos would be more likely to give that bit of extra.

Best timing for Cousins to be a FA.
