When I was around 21 or 22, I was driving home, and minutes from my house. I was driving home from my girlfriends house, it was late, I can't remember if I was buzzed/drank, but I remember my contact lenses were cloudy. I had a grand cherokee laredo and something came out of nowhere and I hit it. I thought it was a dream or I imagined it. I stopped and got out of my jeep to see. Nothing was damaged, but I got back in, turned around, and went back to where it happened. There was a deer at the side of the road. I got out to investigate more. The deer wasn't moving. I got closer and the fucking thing, laying on it's side, tried kicking me. At least I interpreted it, whatever it did, as an aggressive move, and I was pissed. I want to add onto this story of how I reacted, but around the same age range, a female friend/hook out was leaving my parents house, and she hit a deer in her jeep. She called and told me and I went to look where it happened. There was a deer, on the side of the road alive. I really can't remember which instance it was, but I dispatched it with a swift crack to the cranium, with a crescent wrench. I thought it was the first instance, but when I got towards the end, I lean more towards it happened when my female friend hit it. The other event happened about two years ago. Again I was driving to my parents house, for a visit. Ahead there was small road kill, and a dove right by it. The fucking thing didn't even move, and I hit it. It turns out the initial road kill was another dove, that was flattened, and this dove was right by it. I think about this often. So we have a flattened dove and a very alive dove standing right by it. Maybe it was its partner or family. The thing made no effort to move and I didn't have time to slam on the breaks. She was grabbing on me and I hit something. Freaked out obviously as I didn’t know wtf it was. Drove back and saw the most disgusting creature ever smashed on the road. Last second saw mother duck with about 10 baby ducklings starting to head across the road. Was able to miss with the truck but the trailer tires murdered about half of them. Fucking thing flew out from under a gaurd rail and hit the windshield. Nothing broken and the thing kept flying. Assume it was ok. Crazy shit. Put on the spray with the wipers and it only made it worse. Had to pull over. Luckily had some napkins in the car to help wipe that shit off. I bet I hit 500+ bees in one fucking shot. The deer got stuck in the chains and the bus driver continued down the road with the deer flopping around slamming into the wheel wells right where I was sitting. People murder duckspal trust me i didnt feel good about hitting them, but only so much you can do running down the interstate, wasnt going to jerk the wheel and kill myself so the ducks had to go. in the dakotas there is fairly tall grass right off the edge of the interstate so they came out of nowhere.
