Ronda Rousey officially in the rasslin' business

WWE has gone downhill ever since they fully embraced PG-13 crap or whatever.

By trying to control every single aspect of the business and force feed people that are not fully 'over,' they have took away the illusions that once made it a great product.

Breakouts like The Rock and Stone Cold were not the result of heavy-handiness, but more of telling the dudes to go out and be themselves--only they were severely amplified once WWE knew what they had.

Also, with these companies selling out to Social Justice, entities like WWE are afraid to push the envelope, and thus, have turned off the male demo that once made them highly popular.

Good post.

Once WWE got rid or bought out their competition... they dropped the Attitude Era... which is easily the best time in rasslin'. That era only came about because of the heavy push from WCW at the time. Man, I miss those times!

Attitude era would never fly now. Protestors, calls for boycotts would run rampant.

WWE has always gotten away with shit.

A lot of their characters are very stereotypical.  Remember Cryme Time?  Maybe they're still around, I don't know.  And then those fuckin' Mexican wrestlers that would come out with a leaf blower.  :laugh

But a lot of the risqué storylines from the Attitude Era probably wouldn't fly, so you're right.
