Also--if I'm not mistaken--Obama routinely got most of whatever he wanted in budgets from Boehner n crew, despite Reps holding power.

Trump and his party has the Presidency and both chambers of Congress right now and still cannot get his funding??

Sorry, but that's something he needs to deliver on or get it thrown back at him.

Can't be considered close to the greatest unless the debt is handled in some way. Full employment and increased deficit? That's a recipe for disaster down the road. Maybe even during his own term(s).

I just don't like how all these threads devolve into Trump v Anti-Trump without at least exploring some objectivity on the issues.

Even the most hardcore Trumper needs to realize that he needs to deliver on the wall.....and even the most hardcore anti-trumper could reasonably assess how certain things may play well for him.

Don't have to like the guy to make acknowledgements either way at times.

Trump supporters don't care if the wall gets built. They only care that he says the wall should be built. If it is not built, they will just say it was the Dems fault that they did not make him King.

The threads devolve because both the left and right are completely controlled and nothing more than cheerleaders. You can literally reverse positions and they will never know it.

Free market capitalism is the best path to prosperity.

High protection tariffs, government picking winners and losers in, for example, the energy market, anti-immigration, $4 trillion dollar budget and pro big military...

Even if you count his tax cuts (with 80% going to the top 1% instead of the middle class like he promised in his campaign) that just cuts funding and, with zero cuts in spending from previous years, drives up deficits that will have be paid back at some point.  Populist maybe but proclaiming Trump a capitalist is laughable.

Trump hasn't put .01 into any broke fukk's pocket here or done anything to benefit them in any way yet they just slobber all over his cok as if he were the new Jesus.

That's what I call being delusional.

Denying the truth about the tax cuts(that benefit almost everyone) and the economy is just stupid sleepy. So far, Trumps presidency had benefited the vast majority of americans.

The deficit, infrastructure, immigration and healthcare should have been priority and slam dunks for a president aligned with both branches of congress.

I thought Ben Shapiro (very conservative) had a good point when he said something to the effect that while it may end up good with NK, diplomacy is a tool to achieve those ends and not just a thing to celebrate for happening.

It does seem like folks are making a bit too much of the diplomacy happening when it's merely a tool to try achieving an objective. So again, while it may lead there, let's save the celebrating for if/when a deal gets implemented.

The guy is trying to justify tariffs on cars and forced purchase of coal and nuclear (when the FREE MARKET is now clearly picking solar and wind) on national defense grounds yet the true believers proclaim him their Capitalist Messiah.

Sleepy the United States survived 8 years of Reagan's big government spending so we most likely survive Trump too.   Like I said above just keep laughing at Trump true believers dancing around in the middle of a shit storm as it will be over in 3 years if not sooner...

That free market in solar and wind depends on govt subsidies, take that away and there would never be another windmill built, think about it.

This may have been a somewhat interesting argument when the first government started subsidized clean energy but clearly coal and nuclear is no longer winning or else all energy subsidizes could just simply be cut off and Trump wouldn't have to have force continued use of the less popular forms (coal and nuclear) through the force of government.  We can argue about the merits of the government jump starting an industry but, giving the choice between spending on industrial military complex perpetual bomb dropping in oil rich countries with the wrong majority religion and spending money on something that makes us more energy independent, move us towards clean energy, will provide benefits for both us and future generations and that is going to happen eventually anyhow I'm for the later.

Slightly off topic I just listened to local segment on NPR here in Vegas about how they are trying to build light rail from the airport to downtown to via Maryland Parkway and people are basically putting forth the same idea (that free market doesn't want it and they shouldn't do it unless it can stand on it own feet) and the guest (a Republican I think) pointed out how no one demands the same standard of our continued subsidizing of car driving by expecting the building and maintaining roads to pay for itself.  https://knpr.org/knpr/2018-06/light-rail-horizon-las-vegas-says-rtc

Like any good libertarian Marxist (I had a Ron Paul bumper sticker on my car in 2008 and have a Bernie for President shirt that I still wear if you want to try and figure that one out...) I believe the obvious ideal size of government is absolute zero but if forced to pick between "conservative" big government spending on perpetual wars and silly for show border walls that just going to be tunneled under, gone around, or have the good shit flung over them (look at Trump's golden example of the police state in Israel if you don't believe that will be the case...) instead of education, health care, and things like public transportation I'll again take the later.

In the age of Trump, perpetual wars will end, the middle east is no longer critical to our economy as we become by far the worlds largest oil producer in history.

By the way, I would love to see a light rail line from the LV airport to downtown(and the strip), that would make sense because of the great need and ridership it would get. Wheras most other mass transit projects are a boondoggles, with billions wasted in construction and perpetual operating losses. It's reasonable to assume that a vegas light rail line could operate at a profit(which makes it viable).
