I generally don't argue with people anymore on religion, but I leave them with this thought:

I would rather believe in one miracle (a powerful "thing" that got everything going), than believe in millions of lucky miracles (all the evolution/mutation shit for each species on planet Earth, for example). That's it.

I would rather not believe that ANY MIRACLE had to happen for life to show up.  A miracle means that the laws of physics have been broken.  When you can show me that this has ever happened, even ONE time - then you can try to claim that this is how the universe began.

Until even one miracle has been scientifically documented, then miracles go into the same category as unicorns, Yetis, and Tooth Fairies, or Greek Gods.

Let me just leave you with this thought about evolution.  For each LUCKY, yes incredibly lucky, helpful mutation that occurs in an individual of some species - there are billions of unhelpful mutations that cause an individual of some species to die or have a lowered chance at life and reproduction.

But, also keep in mind the incredible number of these mutations that are continually happening.

Kind of.  You're better off in the long run playing baccarat, the pass line in craps, or blackjack.

how many long runs of match play coupons are there, and does it really matter for 20 cents difference of edge

i was just pointing out how short sighted it is to say there is never a reason to do something... who knows there could be the cutest 21 year old at the roulette table, or mayweather giving out chips to anyone playing, or someone sharing the secrets of life, or a casino that gives great kickbacks

A miracle means that the laws of physics have been broken.

I am talking about something happening BEFORE the laws of physics were written. The proper term for you may not be "miracle."

Who wrote the laws of physics? That was the one miracle I am talking about. That "thing" that got everything else going.
