Whats sad is if Winston is suspended three games you can probably stick a fork in their playoff chances and Winston will end his 4th year still with no playoff experience for him or the Bucs since 2015 his rookie year.

Sept. 9 at New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m. (FOX)
Sept. 16 vs. Philadelphia Eagles, 1 p.m. (FOX)
Sept. 24 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)

3 years ago folks compared Mariota/Winston the first two QB drafted. Since then it has been proven that Mariota has outdone Winston in just about every category. Below is where the numbers don't lie....

*Mariota And Winston Meet In Their Debut Game As Rookies

Winston completes 16 of 33 passes,47% completion rate,210 yards,2TD 2INT,64.0 Pass rating,2 fumbles

Mariota completes 13 of 15 passes,87% completion rate,209 yards,4TD 0INT, 158.3 Pass rating,0 fumbles

Mariota's very first game gained a perfect passer rating of 158.3, making him the first quarterback in NFL history to attain a perfect passer rating in his first regular season game. Mariota became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw four touchdown passes in the first half of his NFL debut. He is also the youngest quarterback to reach the perfect passer rating in his first game as well.

**Winning Seasons & Playoffs

Mariota has led the Titans to a better record each year including two straight winning seasons and also the playoffs and a playoff win.

Winston has actually gotten worse going by the Bucs record 5 wins last year is least since Winston arrived. Also no playoffs either.

***Clutch & Turnovers

Winston has more turnovers than any other NFL QB since starting three years ago. Winston has second-most interceptions (44) and is first in most fumbles (15) since 2015,and has turned the ball over 59 times in 45 games.

Mariota led the NFL with four 4th quarter comebacks and five game winning drives the most of any NFL QB in 2017 including biggest road comeback win in playoff history at K.C.

****For '16 & '17 Winning close games

Bucs/Winston was 6-9 in games decided by 6 points or less.

Titans/Mariota was 12-4 in games decided by 6 points or less.

*****4 TD Games/100 Passer Rating For QB First Two Years

As of Thanksgiving '16, Mariota was first QB in modern NFL history with six 4-TD performances in first 22 career games/Also 9 games with 100 passer rating/multiple TD’s only Marino,Wilson & Warner had more first 2 seasons at QB.

First rookie quarterback to have two games with four touchdowns and no interceptions and he owns the record for most touchdown passes in his first three games with eight.

Mike your obsession with comparing Winston and Mariota is weird

There is a backstory to this. In 2015 i was on another message board and after the draft there were a few posters who wouldn't shut up about how Winston was way better and Mariota would bust blah blah. Around this same time a neighbor of mine from Manatee some rinky dink town in Florida was doing the same shit and i guess i got to a certain point where i got sick of hearing Winston was better than Mariota. I got to the point where i hated Winston.

The funny thing is three years later even most of the critics who said Winston was gonna be better are now conceding the point and admitting they were wrong. Most of the pro Winston supporters even see by now that Mariota has had more success and been better than Winston. It is not even close at this point Mariota has outplayed Winston in every way.

Tampa made the wrong choice they won't admit it publicly but they see the writing on the wall. Winston was a gamble from day one,he was a fuck up,has problems staying out of trouble, etc.

Look at the points i made above,Mariota has outplayed Winston.

Mariota has lead his team to improvement every year and has not only made the playoffs Mariota also won a playoff game in the biggest road comeback victory in playoff history.

Mariota lead the NFL in 2017 in come from behind wins because he is clutch. Winston lost six games by 5 points or less most of the time on dumb turnovers like fumbles/interceptions. Winston leads the NFL in turnovers since joining NFL, Its the reason his team loses a lot of games.

A year and a half into his career Mariota had six 4-TD performances in first 22 career games/Also 9 games with 100 passer rating/multiple TD’s thats something

Don't forget the first game Winston/Mariota played where Mariota was the first and youngest quarterback in NFL history to attain a perfect passer rating in his first regular season game and became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw four touchdown passes in the first half of his first game too.

Now it looks like Winston may ultimately be cut from his team at some point if the backlash gets big enough........

Could the Bucs ultimately tell Winston so long goodbye?

The local backlash for Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has begun.

With a three-game suspension looming for violation of the league’s Personal Conduct Policy in connection with a March 2016 incident involving an Uber driver, a columnist for the Tampa Bay Times urges the team to take the next step and release Winston.

“[W]hat did he do?” Tom Jones of the Times writes of Winston. “He allegedly grabbed a woman’s crotch against her will. That’s disgusting and reprehensible. This was more than partying that got a little out of hand. We need to call it what it was: sexual assault.

And this isn’t the first time those awful two words have been associated with Winston. . . .

“The Bucs should send a message to the community that they do not accept, condone nor tolerate this kind of conduct. Not from anybody, but especially not from the starting quarterback and the face of the franchise. They should say that who they are and what they stand for as an organization means more than winning football games at any cost, including its integrity.”

If the Buccaneers decide to take extreme action against Winston, it would cost them nothing. His compensation of nearly $3.9 million for 2018 was fully guaranteed when Winston’s contract was signed, but the suspension most likely will void the guarantee. And his $20.9 million salary for 2019 is guaranteed for injury only until March of next year; if he’s released before then, the payment is avoided.

But the money isn’t the issue. The issue is whether the Buccaneers will be willing or able to tolerate keeping in their employment a franchise quarterback with a history of off-field incidents (including a rape allegation at Florida State) and a suspension for committing what indeed amounts to a sexual assault of a stranger who was being paid to give him a ride in a car.

What the Buccaneers ultimately do will be driven in large part by the local reaction to the suspension. Which could be why Winston’s camp hand picked a Jameis-friendly radio host in Tallahassee to leak the notion that Winston was being suspended simply for failing to report an allegation and not for the underlying behavior.

Winston and his team know that much more than three games ultimately rides on how this news is received and processed in Tampa. The same societal dynamics that prompted the Uber driver to come forward could cause this incident to take on a life of its own, possibly ending Winston’s career as a Buccaneer.

Where this goes may depend on the contents of the traditional letter informing Winston of his suspension. That letter likely will spell out in detail the basis for the punishment. It also will provide the starting point for what could become a viable push to pressure the Buccaneers to part ways with a player who has the potential to become a short-list franchise quarterback.

Mike is spiking the football every chance that he gets!

Only because three years ago i had everybody telling me how Winston was gonna be so much better and how the Titans screwed up picking Mariota.

I knew even back then that when it was all said and done we got the right guy in Tennessee.

All Winston has done is lead the NFL in turnovers and cause Tampa to lose a lot of games. Winston will most likely close his 4th straight season with no playoff appearance as well. He plays well at times but tries too much and has turnovers in crunch time.

Meanwhile Mariota has led Tennessee to a better record every year and has not only made the playoffs he also won a playoff game in the biggest road come back win in NFL history because he is clutch. Its why Mariota led the NFL last year in comeback wins in the 4th quarter.

It is vindication 3 years later that the shit has died down where i had to hear everyday how much Winston was better. Well i am very glad Tampa got their man because i prayed months before the draft that Tampa who chose first would choose Winston because i knew even then that Winston was immature and would cause trouble. I am surprised he has went three years with no success. As for Mariota i knew from the start due to his smarts, maturity, football skills he would do well and he has. When you draft a good player who is also trouble you take a risk and the Bucs knew this when they drafted Winston.

Mariota better.

Think Winston will be ok though.

Agreed.   Winston plays well but he turns the ball over too much. It is why the last 2 years that Tampa was 6-9 in close games decided by 5 points or less. Winston is gonna miss the first three games of 2018 putting him in danger of missing the playoffs a fourth straight year. Winston has never made the postseason.

On the same token Mariota/Titans were 12-4 in close games decided by 5 points or less. You have to be clutch in the 4th quarter especially late. Mariota led the NFL last year with 5 victories in come from behind wins in the 4th quarter. He also led the Titans to the biggest come from behind road win in NFL playoff history at Kansas City at Arrowhead a tough place to play.

I hope Winston has better luck. Tampa may end up reaching the breaking point.
