Who wins: Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier?

If brock gets in the clinch with him, he'll likely never see the punches coming.

Needs to take him down reallly quick.  Who knows if he can do that.  Seeing the physical size difference, you'd think he should be able too, but...

Would probably just bet Brock due to the price.

Would of been a little different had Stipe managed to go a couple rounds and be able to see Cormiers gas tank at the extra weight.  But he said he normally weighs 230 or whatever for his 205 fights and he looks fine there.  So maybe it would be no big deal and now he'll be at this weight for a longer stretch.

agree with brick that i would take lesnar at the right price, which might be +200 or so

heavyweight fight anything can happen, and cormier is far from unbeatable

and what is Lesnar's path to victory?

I don't see him taking Cormier down with Cormier's wrestling chops.

I think Cormier should be closer to -500, this is a complete and utter mismatch.

has DC ever been in the cage with a guy that weighs 30-40 pounds more than him?  Ohh that can wrestle. (josh barnett maybe?)

DC said he weighs 235ish during the fight when he makes weight at 205.  he just weight 245

Brock weighs in at 265, is it safe to assume he actually weighs 285 or more?

Then Again Brock had ahold of a leg on Overeem and couldn't take him down.  But he was also 6'3 and probably 280 something at the fight.

But Overeem landed some punches that didn't seem to phase Brock, only the knees to the body seemed to hurt him.

For some reason I think it's gonna be a clinch and DC hits him with a shot like Stipe or it's gonna be a long fight.

I don't see DC jabbing and messing up brock like he did to stipe.

now that's just silly

agree to disagree mike

the ONLY reason I might give some credence to a short line is because as you stated, it's a heavyweight fight.  That said, we have a REAL fighter going up against a guy that does have some wrestling credentials, but is not anywhere in the same stratosphere as Cormier as a combat fighter.  Cormier has a huge advantage standing and an advantage wrestling, even though he will be 20-30 pounds lighter than Lesnar on fight night.  A juiced to the gills Lesnar might have a shot but a clean Lesnar has little to no chance beyond a flash ko or maybe a ground and pound finish IF he can get Cormier down.  I don't see either happening.  Cormier finishes him in the 1st or 2nd round likely by KO.  The current line has a ton of value on Cormier IMO but avoiding that juice and betting cormier by ko and 1st/2nd round are probably better options.

Lesnar is washed up in MMA combat as far as I'm concerned. He's going to have to bull rush through Cormier's power punches for a chance to take him down. And I don't see that happening. This could be Lesnar's retirement fight.

Lesnar does not like being hit either.  Look at his past UFC fights, he turtles up and quits with any adversity.

All I know is that Jon Jones beat the shit out of Cormier.  Made him look like an amateur.

Jones beat the shit out of everyone.

Jones had a big speed and quickness edge on Cormier, Lesnar does not.

Also, there is so much to worry about with Jones.  Cormier said in an interview the other day that preparing for Miocic was easy compared to Jones.  All Cormier had to worry about with Miocic was his boxing and maybe wrestling.  With Jones, kicks, knees, elbows, weird angles, length etc etc.  Lesnar does not bring much to the table other than his wrestling.  I would be absolutely gobsmacked if Lesnar KO's Cormier.

Peavy, You really think Cormier is a better wrestler than Brock? Brock was as good of a wrestler as anyone has seen in college and on top of that will have 30 lbs on Cormier and be much stronger. If Brock gets it to the ground and smothers Cormier right off the bat so he is exhausted it will be over. Don’t think that’s how it plays out, but if Brock winds up +200 or more the dog is the play.

Yes, Cormier was an Olympic wrestler.

Lesnar is nothing more than a side show act, give me a break.

I'll eat crow if Lesnar wins but I really don't see it...you guys watch too much WWE  :laugh

lesnar was an NCAA champion wrestler in the prime of his life and will have a lot of weight on Cormier. The wrestling will favor Brock big time and just silly to think otherwise. Have you ever tried to wrestle someone with a big weight advantage that is also stronger?

I know all about Lesnar's wrestling accolades.  I guess we will agree to disagree.

Lesnar has been murked by fighters far worse than Cormier.  It will be quick and ugly fight for your hero.

you can’t tell me if you put these two guys in a ring to strictly wrestle that you would take Cormier at even money. And if you can, you don’t like money because Brock is bigger, stronger, and an very minimum just as skilled and I’d say better than Cormier. You obviously disagree just because dc was in the olympics lol

Brock not gonna have a chance to wrestle. That's the whole point. Unless Cormier trips and falls in the ring. Brock doesn't stand a chance standing up. FACT.

agree with you, that is the reason lesnar an underdog in the fight. He is pathetic standing up, throws girlie punches. But if he does take Cormier down and smother his face for a few minutes dc will burn up all of his energy and be done for.
