Mike75
Just noticed something looking on Pro Football Reference. The first Super Bowl season was 1966 the most recent Super Bowl season was 2017. If your team was playing when 1966 started its first week of games they will have played exactly 800 games starting from 1966 through the present day ending the last regular season game in 2017. Some teams began later like Saints 1967,Bengals 1968,Bucs & Seahawks 1976,Jaguars & Panthers 1995,Ravens 1996,Titans 1999 and Houston Texans 2002. The majority of franchises played 800 games but some played less games due to getting awarded a franchise later than 1966 thats why we go by winning percentage overall Overall to see how teams stack up against each other we will go by winning percentage....... Below is the overall winning percentage of each franchise in order from best to worst NFL Team Winning Percentages Super Bowl Era 1966 through 2017 TEAM RECORD WIN PERCENTAGE GAMES YEAR BEGAN1-Dallas Cowboys 477 321 2............... . 0.598............ 800 games (began 1966)2-Pittsburgh Steelers 469 326 5.......... . 0.589........... 800 games (began 1966)3-Denver Broncos 448 345 7................ 0.564............ 800 games (began 1966)4-Minnesota Vikings 445 348 7............ 0.561............ 800 games (began 1966)5-Miami Dolphins 445 351 4................. 0.559.......... . 800 games (began 1966)6-New England Patriots 445 352 3....... 0.558............ 800 games (began 1966)7-San Francisco 49ers 432 359 9......... 0.546............ 800 games (began 1966)8-Oakland Raiders 430 362 8................. 0.543........... .800 games (began 1966)9-Green Bay Packers 428 361 11........... 0.542............ 800 games (began 1966)10-Baltimore Ravens 190 161 1............. 0.541........... 352 games (began 1996)11-Indianapolis Colts 414 381 5............ . 0.521............ 800 games (began 1966)12-Kansas City Chiefs 413 379 8........... .0.521............ 800 games (began 1966)13-Washington Redskins 413 379 8...... 0.521............ 800 games (began 1966)14-Philadelphia Eagles 405 385 10........ 0.513............ 800 games (began 1966)15-Los Angeles Rams 404 388 8........... 0.510........... .800 games (began 1966)16-Tennessee Titans 155 149 0.............. 0.510........... 304 games (began 1999)17-Seattle Seahawks 334 325 1.............. 0.507.......... . 660 games (began 1976)18-Carolina Panthers 183 184 1.............. 0.499............ 368 games (began 1995)19-New York Giants 384 412 4................ 0.483............ 800 games (began 1966)20-Los Angeles Chargers 381 412 7...... 0.481........... .800 games (began 1966)21-Chicago Bears 382 414 4.................. 0.480............ 800 games (began 1966)22-New York Jets 363 432 5.................... 0.457............ 800 games (began 1966)23-Cincinnati Bengals 351 417 4............ 0.457............ 772 games (began 1968)24-Buffalo Bills 362 434 4....................... 0.455............ 800 games (began 1966)25-Jacksonville Jaguars 165 203 0........ 0.448.............368 games (began 1995)26-New Orleans Saints 349 432 5........... 0.447....... ... 786 games (began 1967)27-Atlanta Falcons 351 443 6.................. 0.443............ 800 games (began 1966)28-Arizona Cardinals 345 444 11............ 0.438............ 800 games (began 1966)29-Houston Texans 110 146 0................. 0.430.......... .256 games (began 2002)30-Cleveland Browns 320 428 4............. 0.428........... .752 games (began 1966,no team 96-98)31-Detroit Lions 333 457 10.................... 0.423............ 800 games (began 1966)32-Tampa Bay Buccaneers 255 404 1.... 0.387............ 660 games (began 1976)

Bfo
Even more amazing for the Steelers that they started out 23-58-3 during this time period.
theguesser
Vikings are due to win something other than regular season games. The Titans are the Oilers and should get their record. The Ravens are the Browns. The Browns are an expansion team that started in 1999. I hate how they have officially given the Browns history to the Current expansion team. Their actual record since 1999 makes Tampa Bay look successful.
Mike75
Even more amazing for the Steelers that they started out 23-58-3 during this time period. Even more amazing was owner Rooney giving Chuck Noll a few years to get things going right and start winning. For three straight years Noll failed 1969,1970 and 1971. From 1972 through 1984 Noll was better than any head coach in the NFL ,13 straight years with no losing seasons going to 7 AFC Championship games during this span and winning 4 Super Bowls. Went to postseason 11 times and won his division 9 times. Noll's last 7 years he only made postseason once. Since 1969 its amazing they have only had 3 head coaches in all that time. Machiavelli
Nowadays coaches aren't given the time to truly get going. Either show something pretty immediately or get replaced!
Mike75
Interesting. Brady/BB era Pats certainly helped NE considerably. Definitely,no doubt about it. Also Cleveland being bad the last few years put them where they are. I was surprised of all teams to see Tampa Bay worst of all teams overall. Mike75
Pre-Dungy Bucs were awful forever, right? Yes they started out in 1976 and lost their first 26 games over 2 seasons in '76 and '77. The only other really bad teams have been the 2008 Lions who i believe were 0-16 Then the Browns of 2017 were 0-16 The Bucs set the record for worse streak with 26 straight losses. Cleveland currently has 17 straight losses but the team looks to be their best in a long time so not many more, As for the Bucs from 1976 thru 1996 the first 20 years the only good years were 1979 a surprise NFC Championship game and 1981 other than '79 and '81 it was bad. In fact overall since 1976 over 40 years ago the only time the team had success was from 1996 thru 2008 in the Dungy/Gruden era and since 2007 there has been no postseason

Their actual record since 1999 makes Tampa Bay look successful. At the time, "we" (hardcore Browns fans) looked at it as a pride thing that we keep the heritage for the new team coming in. We didn't realize how bad they would suck. I am going to be a Browns fan even if they lose every game for the rest of my life, and there are thousands out there with my same loyalty. Mike75
1970 is largely considered to be the beginning of the modern NFL and first year the AFL/NFL combined and then formed two conferences the AFC consisting of all AFL teams and NFC which consisted of all NFL teams. 1970-2018 NFL TOTAL WIN PERCENTAGE ALL TEAMS 1- Pittsburgh Steelers 1970-2018 465-290-3 .6152- Dallas Cowboys 1970-2018 443-315-0 .5843- Denver Broncos 1970-2018 437-315-6 .5804- Miami Dolphins 1970-2018 437-319-2 .5785- New England Patriots 1970-2018 435-323-0 .5746- Minnesota Vikings 1970-2018 425-329-4 .5637- San Francisco 49ers 1970-2018 412-342-4 .5468- Baltimore Ravens 1996-2018 198-167-1 .5429- Green Bay Packers 1970-2018 398-350-10 .53210- Washington Redskins 1970-2018 396-359-3 .52411- Philadelphia Eagles 1970-2018 391-359-8 .52112- Oakland Raiders 1970-2018 388-364-6 .51613- Tennessee Titans 1999-2018 164-155-0 .51414- Seattle Seahawks 1976-2018 342-331-1 .50815- Kansas City Chiefs 1970-2018 381-370-7 .50716- Indianapolis Colts 1970-2018 381-375-2 .50417- Los Angeles Rams 1970-2018 375-378-5 .49818- Carolina Panthers 1995-2018 189-192-1 .49619- Chicago Bears 1970-2018 372-385-1 .49120- New York Giants 1970-2018 368-387-3 .48721- Los Angeles Chargers 1970-2018 360-393-5 .478 22- Cincinnati Bengals 1970-2018 350-405-3 .46423- New Orleans Saints 1970-2018 349-405-3 .46324- Buffalo Bills 1970-2018 349-407-2 .46225- Atlanta Falcons 1970-2018 344-409-5 .45726- Houston Texans 2002-2018 120-150-0 .44427- Jacksonville Jaguars 1995-2018 169-213-0 .44228- New York Jets 1970-2018 332-424-0 .43929- Arizona Cardinals 1970-2018 321-430-7 .42830- Detroit Lions 1970-2018 316-438-4 .42031- Cleveland Browns 1970-2018 288-418-4 .40832- Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1976-2018 260-413-1 .
