This cat in my avatar has been showing up on and off at my house for two months. I’ve been debating on adopting it, but I’ve never wanted more than one.....been feeding it Fancy Feast twice a day so of course it’s not going anywhere. I think my cat likes having him around. Let him spend the night in house for first time last night.

Little fucker likes to grab and bite my feet and ankles though. .... are two cats better than one? Feel like it’s going to be a decision I regret either way,

just adopt it

go take it for shots and what not

i hate cats, but i always adopt dogs

i wasted 1k on a snake bitten dog that died 2 weeks after

i spent 800 on getting a leg removed on a homeless dog

best decisions i couldve made and happy with both

I’ve been putting out “found cat” posts on all the local Facebook pages to no avail. I think it’s pretty well accepted that it’s a stray. Local law says you must turn it over to animal control. They quarantine it and hold for three days to check to see if an owner claims it, test it, etc, and if not, I would have first right of refusal to adopt.

At that point , if I didn’t take it it would be put up for adoption and stay at the Humane Society. They have an abundance of cats. Because I haven’t been decisive, I haven’t done anything and have let it been running around...feeding it and letting it come in for short periods. Yesterday my neighbor called and asked me what my intention was. Apparently the cat has been visiting their house also. They don’t want to, but would take it in if I wasn’t going to. I kind of like the flexibility of letting it be an outdoor cat, but taking him in at night or in bad weather. However I don’t think that would set well with the neighbor.

Plus I’m living in constant fear that it’s going to pee on something. I have no idea if it knows how to use a litter box or not.

outdoor cats are a NO GO

My intention was to never let my cat go outside but it became a door dasher, and will now meow incessantly until I let it out....always comes home and doesn’t leave the block. What is the biggest danger? Getting hit by car?

Or are you saying not to adopt a cat that has lived outdoors for a long time?

The cats will love and appreciate you feeding and caring for them.

Go for it!

There are days that I can barely take care of myself much less two animals!

If I did it, the main reason would be for company for my cat during the winter and when traveling. Otherwise I would let the other people adopt it and it would be raised as strictly indoor cat. I would have to invest in a really good vacuum cleaner or rumba. Cat hair makes me crazy. I don’t knowwwwwww.

Committing to a cat is diff than committing to a man, though.

This cat won't run out on you! (hahahaha not to suggest men do that to you, but saying that the cat will have no inclination to. You can safely commit!)

Lol. No I’m usually the one running....(see fear of commitment)

That’s not the issue at all.
