The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) confirmed on Tuesday that it is looking for a missing American man since September 25.Although the OIJ indicated that the entity does not have reports of the payment of a ransom, it is unofficially stated that a million dollar sum was demanded from the 43-year-old man's family. The director of the OIJ, Walter Espinoza insisted that through the Costa Rican judicial authorities there has been no communication with alleged kidnappers. The subject identifies himself as William Sean, better known as Tony. He is a neighbor of Santa Ana and owns an electronic betting center in San Pedro.Sean was last seen in Curridabat when he went to leave a co-worker."The OIJ has not received nor has it known that a reward is required," Espinoza said. The police chief said they can not provide further details of the investigation because the life of the American could be in danger. The case is handled by the Miscellaneous Crimes section and the Criminal Investigations unit. The judicial authorities located the American's vehicle, but no further details were given as the investigation is in process.Private investigatorsIn this case, the national authorities found that Sean's family privately hired private investigators in the country. They were from September 25 to 27 in the country and no further details of their actions are handled. The OIJ pointed out that they were not officials of any governmental institution and they did not receive references in this regard from the US embassy. The OIJ works on the reconstruction of the scenario and hopes to obtain more details of the case. Sean also has Costa Rican citizenship.Unofficially it is said that the family would have executed a millionaire payment before contacting the OIJ, but this was not corroborated by Espinoza.

In the real world, if a CEO of a publicly listed company gets arrested or kidnapped, the stock will probably drop 5-15%. In a lightly regulated business, the risk is higher. If he doesn't return, funds in 5D will be worth 25-50c on the dollar.

Sounds true, however, 5dimes would be a good candidate to get bailed out/bought by someone big like Bookmaker.
