Need restaurant recommendations for NYC over the Holidaze

If near Times Square.. 

 

Shake Shack for a fast food burger and shake.

 

John's Pizzeria for pizza.  Most of the better pizza joints are not in Manhattan.  But Johns is one of the better ones in the Time Square area.  And it's inside an old church so the setting is kind of cool. 

 

Most of the restaurants near Time Square are tourist traps and/or chains.

Go here around 5 pm when Wall St and the surrounding offices let out. Get an ice cold styrofoam mug of beer, and a burger and fries at non-Manhattan prices. Lotta sights to see......

Great Chinese, but no liquor license. I think they only serve beer. Just as good as any of the Chinatown joints, but cleaner and more spacious.

If you insist on Little Italy, this place is great.

 

All three places I suggested are downtown, easily accessible via subway. I avoid Midtown like the plague. If you're venturing to the outer boroughs, there's some good options I can suggest.

I like this place better than Luger's, but if you're staying in Manhattan it's a pain in the neck to get to. Lotta DIVORCEES in the bar area though......

That will definitely help with the recommendations.  

 

If you are looking for things to do, I would definitely do Top of The Rock at the Rockefeller Center over the Empire State Building.  Much better view of the city and you can experience it in the open air.
