theguesser Posted January 18, 2019 Report Share Posted January 18, 2019 My best $$$ year was when I had bet the Ravens and Giants at 50-1 before the season as my primary futures. Then, in the the Super Bowl I went all in on the Ravens, as I had been having a tremendous playoff season. Next best was when I had the Saints at 50-1 as my biggest future before their Super Bowl year, and then went hard on them in the game itself, as I told everyone I knew before the playoffs started that was the matchup I badly wanted for the Saints. I even made some money at my Superbowl party that year by betting someone that NO would onside on the 2nd half opening kickoff. I wish I saw them all that clearly. But my most satisfying, which was for big $$$ at the time, when I was a kid, was taking all comers in school in the Chiefs-Vikings Super Bowl. I didn't want, and didn't need the 13 points. I knew the Chiefs were the best team in Football, because they had survived the Jets, and Oakland. I knew they were the 3 best teams in Football, because I didn't consider the Super Bowl the year before with the Jets beating the Colts as any kind of fluke, but rather the starting of the AFL being appreciably better than the NFL at the top. I had Pizza money for the next few weeks, and that probably cemented my Chiefs fandom for life. My biggest loss, was stupidly betting NE on the Money line against the Giants when they were going for the undefeated season. I've never bet a money line remotely that high before or since.
