El Chapo2017
Outside of the 5 Straight Finals Trips that hadn't been accomplished in over 50 Years (Since the 57-66 Celtics), 3 Titles in 4 Years hardly qualifies as a "Dynasty". A Championship this year (which would've given them a 3-Peat and 4 out of 5) would've solidified them as a "Dynasty". As of now they are just another team that repeated (Like the Pistons of Rockets). Obviously, GSW is ahead of those 2 (because of they won 3 Times), BUT: NO 3-PEAT = NO "Dynasty".
rito
Dynasty was already blown when they blew the 3-1 lead to Lebron the year they won 72 or whatever games. Then you add Durant and everything after that is bull shit anyway. Can't wait till they miss the playoffs next year.
CarolinaKid
in all fairness, let say if the key players was not hurt, would people be saying the same thing today.i really dont think so

Imagine if they hadn't blown that lead in 2016, and had a Chance for 5 straight? Now, they go down in history as just another team that had a few good years. That said, with next year being a certain washout (due to key injuries), they might have one last shot at redemption. Back-to-Back Titles in 2021 and 2022. That would give them 5 in 8 Years. Then, they might be able to re-kindle "Dynasty" talk.
rito
Are they gonna commit 400M to Durant/Thompson (+ a shit ton of tax) when neither can play next year

Machiavelli
They're trying to sign Durant with the promise that they'll deal him where he wants to go once healthy. Per realgm.

Obviously next year is lost.No Chance in 2019-20. Another version of the GSW Plan is that they are gonna go heavy into luxury tax to sign them both to max deals. Hoping to keep it going for the 2020-21 and beyond (to win a couple more). Time will tell.
FairWarning
Is their dynasty more overrated than LBJ’s run of making the finals from a conference where half of the teams tank every year? I think not.
CarolinaKid
^^^^very good pt, the way players jump from team to teams these days, we might have to forget the word DYNASTY, for good now when it comes to the nba, just like the 1 and done has kill the college game, now the jumping of teams in the nba is just as bad.give me the good ol days
mikeman
They win, they were a dynasty, they didn't. They were the best team for a few years and had a good run.

Machiavelli
Players hold the power since stars dictate success n franchise value. Only a few players per team, as opposed to the other sports.
Machiavelli
Lebron's legacy--no matter how many titles he wins --will be that he helped the players realize their power and assert such. Don't like it? Watch hockey!

CarolinaKid
i think if you want to kick around the word Dynasty in today sports, we can only come up with 1 team in any sport and that is the NEW England PATRIOTS

Machiavelli
Ok, but why did you bring up lebrick? Whether Golden State is or is not a dynasty has nothing to do with him. Because I was replying to CK's opinion about the players/power. He wants the owners/coaches to 'take back' their teams. However, Lebron is the main reason why that'll never be the case again. However, Lebron is the main reason why that'll never be the case again. They could take it back if they wanted to, of course the players could go and start their own league too.
