MLS needs relegation

The whole concept of US sports would have to change to end up with relegation. You'd need to get rid of college sports (since they're basically the lower-league feeder system for US sports) and you'd need to blow it all up and start from scratch (since current owners would never agree to the possibility of losing so much value in their franchises,

Also, should you do it with MLS, what the heck are you gonna do about those teams that end up getting promoted and their stadiums? Are you just gonna have the Rochester Rhinos and the Charleston Battery play MLS games in front of 1000 people? And then when the Philadelphia Union are in the NASL, they'll play home games in front of 500 people in their new 15k seat stadium? It just wouldn't work today on so many levels.

I suppose it only works in europe because the 2nd divisions are quite good leagues and still draw fans to the games. Not sure id want to own a team that could get relegated though.

Having a top team relegated is a nightmare for everyone. Chivas is right on the edge in mexico right now, that wouldnt be good for the liga at all.

One on the biggest historical colombian teams got relegated a few years ago and keeps coming up short in trying to get back. They even changed the rules this year, added 2 teams to the first division and they still didnt get in. Still selling their shirts at the addias store though. I bet most of their fans dont know the difference.
