Does ASU cheat?

If they are, they aren't doing a very good job.  They are a decidedly mediocre middle of the PAC team most years and need to catch lightning in a bottle to compete at the upper tier.

They have the advantage of pretty much anyone can get into school there since there academic standards are low (similar to a SDSU or UNLV), but suffer from an inferior location to most of the other PAC schools as well as a mediocre in-state recruiting base (although Arizona seems to be rising in recruits, but it still will be dwarfed by California).

They need a really good coach to succeed there with the obstacles they have in place.  Which is tough when it is usually a stopgap for coaches or a step down.

I'd say you can pretty much write them down for 6-6 or 7-5 at the start of football season , 5th or 6th in the PAC, and be right more often than not.
