The 2020 NFL Offseason To See Lots Of QB Movement

The 2020 offseason could consist of unprecedented movement when it comes quarterbacks, with a chain reaction of dominoes driven by where and how quickly the biggest rectangular double-squares land.

The biggest domino continues to be Tom Brady. Even as some of the smaller dominoes begin to fall (Eli Manning retires, Philip Rivers leaves the Chargers), Brady will influence the market more than anyone else, arguably in the history of free agency.

Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Dak Prescott, Ryan Tannehill, Philip Rivers, Jameis Winston, Teddy Bridgewater, Marcus Mariota, and Case Keenum all becoming free-agent QBs in March.”

Cam Newton could be let go in Carolina, In fact consider it a done thing....

Also in New Orleans Taysom Hill considers himself a franchise QB, would leave Saints for 'right opportunity'

When the NFL regular season starts in 2020 things could look a lot different across the league.....

Early chatter indicates Brady wants 30 million and New England is willing to pay that amount. Also our QB in TN Ryan Tannehill loves it here wants to stay with Titans and feeling is mutual.

Brees either retires or stays a Saint.

IF Brady ended up anywhere else it would either be with L.A. Chargers or Las Vegas Raiders.

As for Phillip Rivers he will either be an Indianapolis Colts starter or in Tampa Bay with Bucs.

Teddy Bridgewater will go someplace wouldn't be surprised if it is another backup role IF he cant find a starting gig

Marcus Mariota i could see as a starting QB in Chicago or L.A. for Chargers or a perfect backup for Wilson in Seattle.

Case Keenum will likely be a good backup option somewhere i wouldn't be shocked if he is somewhere like Tennessee backing up Tannehill.

The franchise tag will keep Dak Prescott off the open market, but if the Cowboys make a run at Brady (and get him), Prescott would be in play, via tag and trade.

Other quarterbacks who are under contract for 2020 but who could be in play include Josh Rosen, Andy Dalton, Nick Foles, Joe Flacco, Derek Carr, and Cam Newton.

Like i said earlier i could see Newton being let go in Carolina. Not sure where he would potentially go to revive his career.

Why so they could start off hot every year then fade off. Stafford is horrible pal

Stafford is not horrible by any stretch it is the Detroit Lions that are horrible.

The Lions regularly have fielded mediocre defenses the last 10 years making it harder for the team to win

Stafford had the 6th best passer rating in the NFL for 2019 at 106.0 and 19TD with just 5INT and was on pace for one of his best years before he got hurt 8 games into the season.

In his 10 year career Stafford has 7 seasons in the top 10 regarding game winning drives/4th quarter comebacks and in his career has 34 game winning drives and 28 fourth quarter comebacks.

He also has 7 seasons in the top 10 regarding passing yards, passes completed and total offense.

He has 5 seasons in the top 10 in regards to passer rating, pass completion percentage

Stafford was the 31st best player in the NFL for the NFL 100 top players in 2017 and 2018.

Sometimes it isnt the QB himself but the team.

I think Derek Carr could help a team like the Bears get over the hump. Carr like Stafford has been stuck on a terrible team and despite being stuck on a bad Raiders team Carr since 2014 has been to 3 Pro Bowls and 4 seasons was in the top 10 regarding game winning drives/4th quarter comebacks.

Last season Carr was 2nd in NFL in completion percentage at 70.4 and was 9th in passer rating at 100.8

We all saw how much better Ryan Tannehill was once he left Miami which has been bad for years and went to a better team with stability in Tennessee.

Brady situation is fascinating

Thinking he wants to leave to test himself elsewhere

According to Tom Curran of NBCSportsBoston.com, when it comes time to talk to other teams Brady “may try to set up meetings at one location instead of Brady going to different cities.

Of course, this is a fluid situation, and things can always change.

But having teams come to him is a novel approach, and one that perhaps only Brady can pull off. Even Peyton Manning hit the road when he was looking for a new team, visiting the Cardinals before choosing the Broncos in 2012.

There has been little normal or traditional about this situation, but having a number of teams coming to Brady with sales pitches would make for an interesting (and perhaps speedier) conclusion to what is already a saga.

This would prove that the NFL Players are finally learning how to wield power like NBA Players.

Great gangster move by Brady.   He's gonna milk his only shot at Free agency for all it's worth, before resigning with NE.
