Guest ChrisHarvard
We see these kind of skits on late night television all the time. They go out and poll "random" people on the streets. I'm sure it's all just for a laugh. I have a TON of Canadian friends, I have a Romanian friend (shes' pretty hot too, a blonde). Whether it's the US or anywhere else, I think any young person is going to be a bit hazy when it comes to naming the current executive branch. trytrytry
Kids today lets all them the Harry Potter Generation (that is what I Coined them hope that sticks, brave, loyal, smart, courageous, fun, interested). and this generation are smarter than we were. and their kids will be smarter then them. I mean come on guys really think back to the complete collection of knuckleheads you knew in grade school, Middle School, Junior high, on your baseball team, your scout group, the neighborhood after school! Your high school. some high fliers then of course but overall??? come on.... And compare that to kids today at age 15 have impressive resumes, online! and are so much more connected to the world and to each other. Perfect of course not, too much of a good thing in technology perhaps, do they memorize "facts" short term memory to get good grades like what was done in the past, not really, its different level of learning. future looks bright.. We tend to forget all the bad things

Escambo
Kids today are smarter than the previous generations. And it's not all that close. You can take a segment of any population and you are going to find a bunch of retards. But on average, I would think this generation of young people are more dialed in. ted sheckler
Generally speaking...many don't know their Vice President. Does that really make them dumb? Not every person has a clue how to build a computer, but does that make anyone who can't a dumbass? Maybe those kids that don't know the Vice President can do math that 95% of the rest of us can't do, so are they really dumb? They may not know who all the people involved in WW2, but they could know a shitload about carpentry and could build things twice as good as the people that can recite all the generals from the wars....I would think the guy that can recite things he's read is less useful than someone with a skill. Balco, say you woke up one morning in your frat house, would you rather have the only 5 remaining people left on earth know who was the captain of the Mayflower, or would you rather have the guys not know how to write, but know how to hunt and build far superior than the guy who knows the names of all south american countries? There are people out there with Zero Skills/Zero Knowledge about anything. Those people of course are dummies. There are people that focus on somethings and are clueless about other things, doesn't make them dumb, just uninterested in certain things. Balco, I got home the other day and noticed my clocks on the stove/microwave were reset and flashing, I thought it was an EMP attack possibly...Then realized the only time I had ever heard about EMP attacks were on Call of duty and some guy on TGF. So I put 2 and 2 together and figured that guy on TGF gets all of his "war" history and knowledge from a video game. Next thing you know he's gonna stab 3 homeless guys and whisper into his wristwatch and say "unleash the dogs" because he thinks there are kill streaks in real life. They lack in the life experience that we had at the same age. That I also agree with. They are painfully naive. Kids don't fight today, they don't know what it's like to punch a kid in the face, and then 20 minutes later he's your best friend. They don't play--- there are no pick up games of any kind. Everything has to be scheduled or formally organized. 2015 sucks.
Timely Hitting
Kids today have less people skills - technologically they are an arm and a leg ahead of where even people my age were at the same age. Every kid that comes out for lunch or dinner has an IPad or cellphone that they spend the majority of their lunch/dinner on. There is no communication between the parents and the kids - no conversations. They are just focused on the move or game they are playing. I think there is a lot of value to conversing - whether it be out to dinner, or sitting at home. Given that a lot of parents are complete idiots though - I guess, maybe, it's better that some kids are paying attention less. Also, there's a lot to be said about having to go to the library, research a topic, write up a rough draft that you must proof-read and edit on your own... while technology has given us much more time to expound upon our thoughts, ideas, and creative concepts it has also allowed us to avoid the little things. Computers check our spelling, the thesaurus might give you a word, the internet can now give you an answer to almost any homework question and etc. Short cuts have become the norm, because we can get away with it. Sometimes it's better to sit back, dig in, and grind away at your task. Hard work, work ethic and the likes were easier to instill in our kids when everything wasn't at the touch of your fingertips. Obviously access to more information and knowledge leads to a more advanced and knowledgeable generation. Sometimes I just think they should slow down and learn how to do everything without the assistance of a computer - it gives you a greater appreciation for your accomplishment. Lastly, kids aren't nearly as active as they were even 15 years ago which is a real shame. The parks aren't nearly as packed as they were when I was a wee lad. I'm right at the age that I had to use the library/encyclopedias/etc to write papers in middle school and the internet/computers in high school and college. I consider both equally as challenging and in the end using the internet is simply a more efficient way to use available resources to produce your required end result.
