Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas all reported record increases in new cases on Tuesday after recording all-time highs last week. Nevada also reported its highest single-day tally of new cases on Tuesday, up from a previous high on May 23. Hospitalizations are also rising or at record highs.

At Arizona's Tucson Medical Center on Monday, just a single intensive care unit (ICU) bed designated for COVID-19 patients was available, with the other 19 beds filled, a hospital representative said.

"ICU to be expanded, hopefully, in coming days," Dr. Steven Oscherwitz, an infectious disease expert at the hospital, said in a tweet on Monday night. "Not sure where people needing ICU care will be able to go, since most AZ (Arizona) hospitals are pretty full now."

Todays report shows  AZ has 6200 beds filled, of which 1500 are covid patients - total hospt occupancy is 81% 6% higher than 1 month ago(which is a non issue).

Todays ICU occupancy is 80% up from 73% a month ago 1300 are in use, of which 500 are covid related.

So that's fake news fish, the hospitals are filling up somewhat, but it's mainly because the hospitals are now doing other procedures.

Oregon has 4400 hospital beds, filled to the brim with 80 covid patients. they have 773 ICU beds - 38 are currently "filled" with covid patients.

They have 783 ventilators - currently 19 covid patients are on a vent.

This is what happens when you only look at headlines and dont check the real facts.

The top Texas health official, John Hellerstedt, said the increase was manageable but the situation could change.

"The possibility that things could flare up again and produce a resurgence of COVID-19," which would stress the state's healthcare system "is still very real," Hellerstedt said.

My little hood in Brooklyn is largely back to normal, except for Restaurant Table service.   And some stores still with reduced hours.   Too many Idiots now going maskless, but most stores won't let them in.

I've seen several businesses that wont let people in with a mask. Fine americans there. :cigar

Poor Doobler……………..

For days, as coronavirus cases climbed across the state, Arizona’s Republican governor blocked local lawmakers from being able to mandate that residents wear masks.

The mayors of Arizona’s largest cities went on national television and radio shows, pressing the governor, Doug Ducey, to give them the power to require mask-wearing in their cities if he was unwilling to mandate it statewide.

Hundreds of Arizona medical professionals sent Ducey an open letter this week, outlining the evidence that masks save lives and asking him to require citizens to wear them.

Partially bowing to pressure, Ducey announced on Wednesday that he would allow local governments to set their own mask-wearing regulations.

He confirmed in a press conference that Arizona was headed in a dangerous direction, with nearly 2,400 new coronavirus cases announced on Tuesday and another 1,800 announced on Wednesday, and hospitals reporting that intensive care units are already at more than 80% capacity.

That's too bad, in times of stress weakness comes to the fore, the Govs been exposed. Because the main issue is most people are prob wearing masks anyway, so you aren't really accomplishing anything.

You think the leftist mob is going to stop at masks?

They are going to demand schools, businesses, casinos, bars all close.

The left, being insane, feels the desperate need to "do something", to them inaction is unthinkable, so even if the action is completely ridiculous it provides their weak souls with sustenance.

Love the insight and research Mike

Thanks

It's been about 2 weeks since vegas reopened, where are the cases? Just like it's been 23 days here in MN since the riots and protests started - no cases, it's been 5 weeks since WI reopened with no restrictions - no cases.

So all over the country nothing that is predicted actually happens, and no one knows why. But in AZ or TX a rise in cases is instantly pounced upon and the true cause is immedatley identified.(lack of masks). Cant you see that the whole thing is a fraud Fish?

NYC Has Its First Day In Months With No COVID-19 Deaths

New York City had its first 24-hour period since March without a death from the coronavirus on Saturday. Here, people dine outdoors on July Fourth in Manhattan's Little Italy.

For the first time in months, there was a 24-hour period in which no one in New York City died of the coronavirus.

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene reported zero deaths on Saturday, but that number could change as death data can lag and new deaths could be confirmed retroactively at any point. The city's first confirmed coronavirus death was March 11.

Mayor Bill de Blasio called the milestone a statement about "how this city fights back and people do not ever give in."

"It's something that should make us hopeful, but it's very hard to take a victory lap because we know we have so much more ahead. This disease is far from beaten," de Blasio said during a news conference Monday. "And we look around the country and we look at what so many other Americans are going through and so many other states and cities hurting so bad right now. So no one can celebrate, but we can at least take a moment to appreciate that every one of you did so much to get us to this point."
