The wife and I want to drive cross country.....neither of us have travels much, she wants to see mt Rushmore which is fine I guess, I figure I’ll get Triple A to plot our drive but don’t want to spend 7-10-14 days away from home to say I looked at a mountain for 10min

Leaving from California.....don’t want to run across any BLM or Antifia....don’t want to get hassled by redneck cops neither.

Safe fun trip....casino stops would be nice....

Throw some ideas at me please and I’ll follow up on my end with more research.....100% going

far from Mt Rush

But many people enjoy Rt 66 trips

Do you two like BBQ?

You could do the BBQ trail thru Texas, foodies rave about that

Would you consider flying to east coast and renting a car do a fall leave tour of the N.E. states?

Love bbq but the wife not at all....any stops for that would be a tuff sell but I will try to fit that in...

Flying, renting a car? Uhhh I don’t know wanted to keep the cost down

Boat/House or anyone else.....:have you done Both the drive only trip leaving your home, And the fly over and rent car and fly back.

And how would you compare the two as far as convenience and cost

When I have only 7 days and want to see family in Texas or Colo I always fly and rent a car.

Saves me 2000 miles drive time, gas, wear on car and 2 nites in hotel.

if I drive I really only get about 3.5-4 days there.

if I fly I get 6 days there

if Under 3 people I think better to fly/rent car

I’ll look into the Fall Leaf your you were talking about but want to say that the Wife will be way more interested in the beauty of Ore/Wash and the FL tour.....I want to ‘Do’ something

Fly into O'Hare, rent a car and get a air BNB in Mich.  I'm 90 min away.  There is enough for the two of you to do.  Casinos for sure.
