just checked in, I'm in ultra glamorous sidney NE, came the western way through wyoming via scottsbluff, my car is utterly filthy after driving 20 miles down some dirt road trying to get the the highest point in NE, I stopped and talked to some farmer on the road - he directed me, turns out if I went a different way I'd have only had maybe 4-5 miles of dirt.

That dirt adds up…esp 16 extra milea

what a different world you've lived in... here in milwaukee casino employees would be much more likely to phone a buddy and follow you home to rob you after a winning session

and yes this has happened to quite a few people

The cocktail waitress  at the mountain grand was super efficient - just kept bringing me gin n tonics. only ordered one and everytime she walked by she'd hand me another one - they're comped by the way. I was splashing her $1 tips like it was going out of style.

I know all them really well also. Lol.  Taya? Jordon? Molly? Reba?   You probably don’t know, but if you described.   Glad u were tipping at least.   Sat night One of them delivered $15 in free drinks and made next to nothing.   Rounds and rounds like that.  I always give them $5 a drink I guess because they’re free and I like all the cocktails.    Guessing my doc will tell me no more drinking today ( I drink once a week but when I do, I go hard) so they may be losing a good chunk of regular income from me.    Can’t fathom people who don’t tip on a free drink.   These girls make peanuts 🥜 without tips and they work hard.

Lots of people in deadwood buy into a $5 BJ table with 20 or 40 bucks, you almost never see that in MN casino's.

BTW, bf said he’s never seen worse BJ players than in Deadwood.   I play occasionally….never noticed that, but I don’t see it everyday…so maybe your story not unusual.

it's really, really bad, the people from nebraska seem to be the worst, I suspect it's because they dont have casino's there so they get no practice and have no incentive to learn.  the cocktail server at thr grand was young, skinny, kinda tall and had lots of tats.. I did notice that not tipping was fairly common, your $5 tips make you look like bill gates I bet.

Taya.   She’s on my FB….great cocktail waitress,,, She’s been over to the house for housewarming party lol.     I know.  I only do that because is easy on the table to give a value chip, and they are friends at this point,  and I know they have some really bad nights.   There was a guy there tipping same girl  $100 per drink one night  though…she made at least 800 that night.  I guess it balances out.

Deadwood is like the forums,   Everyone know almost everyone who works and plays…some go to multiple places, others are exclusive…some quit certain casinos because of certain people…etc

Does south dakota have a sub min wage for tipped employees? I thinkI saw a sign somewhere that said $5 hr, might have been in NE or WY though.

Yeah.  I dk about cocktails.,$4.9 I think (just looked up). Most dealers make $6-10 per hour plus tips.   They can have average $12 per hour shifts and 95/hr shifts…just depends on the plays and players…. They pretty much work for tips obviously.   They can’t say it, but if I’m playing, seeing people win and not tipping I’ll throw out “don’t forget to tip your dealers!” Lol.  Some people, esp young people don’t even realize….and it’s hard for the inexperienced to know how to tip on some games,  They usually appreciate it.  BJ pretty straight forward…in DW, the dealers can take roulette tips and place them for the crew,  it’s fun. Some dealers drop all tips, some play them all, some drop half play half.

I'm in dodge city now, it's crawling with mexicans, at my hotel - I went to a chinese buffet for dinner ant it was 75% mex, went to the casino, quite a few there. The boot hill casino was a disappointment - only 1 BJ table and it was full, played a few machines and lost around 50. Gas is not bad so far, the most I've paid is $4.69, paid $4.46 once, the rest were mid 4.50's.  The chinese buffet was the worst I've ever had - 75% of the items we're almost gone - had to eat stuff I dont even like- then when they brought out a new tray the mexicans would clear it out.
