thanks fifty

it's 99% sure i will be there with my dad at least the 18th/19th, then on to hamptons, atlantic city, and god knows where else

if you have any good east coast ideas for us that don't require a lot of walking just let me know!  we have each been to every state multiple times, we will probably be on a budget after saratoga/ac kicks our ass and gas/hotel prices do the same!

Malta is good....I get rooms at Hotel Trilogy (Latham) for $120 through work. Its quiet and clean about 28 miles from track.if you are interested in staying there  lmk

thanks for the offer fifty, this time we're probably playing it by ear (might stop in niagara falls), so probably best to wait

but it does look like albany or schenectady areas are much cheaper for hotels, probably worth driving a bit to stay for $100/night instead of $300

Closer to the track and downtown the better.  Malta is your better play vs Albany, Latham, Schenectady.  If you're really a horse geek, its worth ponying up for a hotel in town so you can be a part of the track energy morning through night.

i get that, but my dad snores so i'm paying for 2 rooms, not sure i want to spend 700/night if i can drive a bit and pay 300/night

ha!  yeah niagara falls on the ny side sucks (compared to canada) but it's pretty much right on the way

just looked at saratoga casino/hotel... over 700 night/room for those nights jeez

has anyone here done the breakfast saratoga tour?  either the free one or the one for $55
