I'd say the key is moderation.  Set a timer and stick to it.  It's incredible how much time people waste on their phones, laptops, etc doing mindless activities.  

I think we are all guilty of going down that rabbit hole from time to time.

Try a weekly digital detox of staying off of the computer, phone, TV for a day.  Do something fun or productive like pain, play an instrument, cook a complicated dish.
