How in the hell-o do you settle on how you buy the proper mattress? Some are simply too soft, others too firm... I just figured I'd ask here knowing some of our older geezers would have valuable advice to offer.

*Those with deformed backs need not apply.

** I won't be offended if you send this crap to the sandbox with Wade.

Have bad back & got the tempurpedic. They are high but was worth it. Got mine about 4years ago & regular price was almost 10k but

my brother in law works for the company and they are allowed 2 a year at cost. Mine at cost was just under 4k. Most pro athlete's use

the tempurpedic. Probably wouldn't have got the one I got had it not been for the huge discount but the way my back is it was well

worth the investment.

Mattresses are tough to figure out. Everyone is different. Best thing to do is find a place that has a free return and swap deal. So if you don't like it or it hurts your back, you can swap it out for another free of charge.

I'm in the minority that absolutely hated Tempurpedic. It killed my back. Just did not give me the solid support I needed. Took it back for a traditional spring mattress after 3 nights.
