spankie
Well I talked to dave about it today: -hellodavep: Hello there! How can I help you today?-Well i'm just trying to help a friend, he says he linked his bank account and did all of the verification steps, but only has a $100 weekly instant buying limit. -And I have a $1000 weekly instant buying limit, are all accounts treated differently? -What determines this limit? davep: yes it is automateddavep: he will likely get $1000 instant limit over timedavep: as the account ages-He said he opened his account in April, is there a specific timeline for this? davep: it is programmed in, not something we know how it worksdavep: I recommend he add verifications to his accountdavep: that might helpadavep: and as he uses itdavep: like buys bitcoin-He claims he has done every step, i'll check with him. davep: it will increase-Just trying to help him outdavep: I understanddavep: is he really needing $1,000 instant weekly?-Yes he doesdavep: most people can buy a substantial amount daily with standard buy-He wants instant though, doesn't want to wait the 3-4 business days. -Anyway I can put him in touch with someone there? to follow up with him? -He actually wanted to be able to buy 100 bitcoins at a time instantly. But even I don't have an instant limit like that. -Basically wants the highest possible instant limits he can get.davep: $1,000 is the limit at this timedavep: he might be able to request a limit increase once he hits that amount-Alright well i'll pass the information along, thanks for the help. Have a few q's for you: Yisman, how much total btc have you purchased instantly so far since inception of your account? And how much total btc have you purchased via standard buy? spankie
I've bought 84 bitcoins since I signed up on 9/25/14. My weekly instant buy limit was increased to $1000 in early November '14, after waiting the 30 days. There must be something to do with the age of the account & total activity, that's why I asked about your activity. If you haven't bought very many coins, and your account is only 2 months old, that may be the issue. Which I still don't understand if you've completed all of the verification steps. The customer support doesn't seem to be the same people it used to be either, they seem clueless. This must be something new with them because I hadn't heard of any of these issues occurring last year.
FrogFries
On block chain do I need more than 1.wallet. What is the best place you can buy with debit/ credit card...
spankie
No you don't need more than 1 wallet unless you want more. Circle is probably your best bet these days, but others are saying they have a low $100 instant buy limit. For some reason mine is $500, thinking it was sort of grandfathered in since I signed up the day they opened, not certain though, might inquire about it. yisman
thanks spankie I didn't buy anything in april because it was only 100 bucks and I needed more I don't need 100 BTC, just 1000 USD worth. Basically 4 BTC I never bought anything via standard buy, it's useless to me because I know when I need it, I don't know a week in advance I bought 100 USD worth instant last week all verification steps were completed in April
spankie
I bet if you start making more purchases your limit will go up shortly after.

yisman
I bet if you start making more purchases your limit will go up shortly after. yeah but it means just buying 100 a week because I'm not doing the delayed buy I will probably buy 100 worth as soon as they let me just silly because I don't want to mess around with such tiny deposits

Yisman I think the more buys you make the faster your limit will go up. Something to do with activity.

TeamGSP
ok so i managed to do extensive research on the bitcoin 2 way atms as well as the bitcoin atms period here in the los angeles area. There are no 2 way bitcoin atms in the area at this point and that's a shame. I remember reading something about robocoin atms having a 2 way atm but i found that their systems had validation and support complications within their network. In fact, i believe this might have been the company of atms that got taken out of the former restaurant/food store that had them named Locali. Supposedly a location in hollywood and venice had them but when i called the hollywood location, the guy said it got taken out to be fixed and never brought back again. The guy over the phone at the venice location had to put me on hold to ask someone else about it and then told me they didn't have it there anymore. There is a 1 way atm in downtown la as well as hollywood by the a company called Good Vapor in which you can only buy bitcoin but i'm thinking that the fees will be very high. On top of this they are both located in what i believe are marijuana dispensaries. I am not sure if i am at ease going there especially since i realize the fees are probably going to be around 5% to buy, i'll try to call them again later to ask. There are other atms that i found down south in orange county that seem pretty cool but i don't think it will be worth it to drive down there for me to check them out. I did come across 2 useful tools on locating bitcoin atms and they are in the form of a couple of websites being: coindesk.com and coinatmradar.com My conclusion is that circle is the best because they are gambling friendly with the lowest fees and even no fees if you do a bank wire transfer. I have netspend accounts that seem to do bank wires the fastest as opposed to waiting a week with other banks and coinbase, it's up to circle to see how long they will credit the account but for now the bank wire circle transfers are worth the wait. How do i get a $500 instant limit on my circle account? My opinion is that i gotta keep buying over $1000 worth of bitcoin over a period of time to build rapport with circle for them to decide i can get a $500 credit limit but i might not even get this because i don't have a good credit score. I also think that having an actual credit card on file (not a debit card) with circle helps because these financial institutions can tell if it's a credit card or a debit card. You are right in saying coinbase is not "gambling" friendly. But you'll only run into any of those issues if you send your coins directly from coinbase to a book. Use blockchain or other wallet and it's not an issue.

Do you know if coinbase and circle take the same exact time as far as transfers go?

I always use blockchain before sending to a book, but Circle doesn't care either way from what I have been told by many people they send directly from Circle to book with 0 issues. They take about the same time to transfer to your blockchain wallet. Anywhere from 30 seconds to about 2 minutes is what I experience. spankie
So when I first get started how can I buy 250 $$ in coins Register at Coinbase or Circle, instant buy whatever you can, and standard buy the rest. Once you've established some activity and verified your account your buy limits will go up after 30 days.
