Sol Diabler Posted July 4, 2015 Report Share Posted July 4, 2015 Bout 3 years ago for me. Was in Vegas on an NFL Sunday. Got buried in the sportsbook betting NFL games. Lost about $600. Drunk. Said fuck it. Went to ATM to get out another $500. Gonna win it all back on New England -3ish vs SF at home on Sunday night football. After being down 3 or 4 TD's in the 1st half, NE came all the way back in the 2nd half and was even covering at one point. I was teased as SF eventually won straight up. Put my career record on wagers over $500 at like 0-8. Put a $330 wager on ASU @ UCLA 2 years ago in Laughlin. Won that. That's really the last time I've bet considerable money on a game. I was in Vegas at the Rio for that one. I was also on the wrong side of one of the worst bad beats of all time. My buddy from Buffalo and I were at the Mirage. We bet Buffalo. As did 90% of the people in the Book. Buffalo covering all game. Jake Plummer and the Cardinals get the ball with a couple minutes left down a couple of scores. They go right down the field and score to cover the spread with only a few ticks left on the clock. Every one in the book is fucking pissed. Ripping up tickets. Onside kick coming. Only ONE fucking way Buffalo can cover at this point. To return the onside kick for a TD. And thats exactly what happened. Henry Jones fielded the onside kick cleanly and returned it for a TD to end the game. Never seen a sportsbook erupt like that before. It was unreal. The punter runs around takes a safety and they free kick it with no time... The safety ruins my play... Was up 7k and fired the balance on Spurs. Started with 100 and wagered by just listening to lines from a 800 number. I doubled up every bet and got up 7k within a week. Thought about cashing all or some out, but was a bit bored at night with no nightlife and early curfew so said fucked it I'm going all in one more time as I needed a nice rush to keep me going and how good would it feel to be up 14k. Lost that evening by a point. Wasn't a good feeling and was bitter the rest of the exercise. Was young dumb and full of cum back then. Not too bad though considering I guess the outcome of like 12 straight winners, before imploding. These were all NBA games and with Caribsports.
